It's not about parks having/building screen-based attractions. It's about having a good mix of screen and practical attractions, which Uni doesn't have. The balance is completely off in Uni's lineup.

The balance is a bit skewed lately. I think attractions like Mummy, Forbidden Journey, and Spider-Man NAILED the balance. TF and Gringotts are lacking ANY MOVING practical effects, which wears on me.

But Gringotts is the second best ride you listed in this post.:p

My thoughts on this are the bigger problem for USF is that it lacks the smaller experiences to break up the day. Things like the street shows help, but with KidZone a waste for now and FFL worthless as well, there's just a bit of dead space.

Luckily we all know that should be remedied soon

That is like saying DHS lacks rides, but luckily we know it will be remedied soon with 4 new rides. That excuse does not fly with DHS and it shouldn't fly with Uni. When Fallon and F&F open the balance is going to be off big time and if you can't admit that Studios is going to be 3D heavy until Nintendo opens and even beyond depending on how many rides open with Nintendo, then you are kidding yourself. I am a fan of all the parks, but I can admit when there is a huge hole in the park, even my favorite parks. And studios has a huge hole when it comes to non-3D rides. They have some, but not enough to offset the 5 they have now and the 7 they will have at the end of next year. The next park with the most 3D rides is DHS with 3. I can totally understand when people say that Uni is "glasses" heavy and it is going to get worse.

I never said there wasn't a lot of 3_D. I just don't think it's an issue.

This is the thing, you may not think it's much of an issue as you can ride all those rides, but what about the high rate of visitors that have motion sickness? That's where the problem lies.

But you don't think it is Unis problem when those guests go there and decide not to come back because of the high amount of motion/3D rides? I understand attendance is going up as it should because of the popularity of Potter and other IPs. However, I think that the variety is needed so that they can retain more guests moving forward. The more the retain the more people go. I know several people who will not renew APs, won't get APs, or won't visit Uni when they visit because of issues just like this. Wouldn't it be nice if Uni would be more diverse and keep those people?

I'm not against them building different rides. I just want good rides. They can have screens. They can have AAs. Hell, they can just be a coaster. I'm good with whatever

And on the same token as you knowing people who won't go back to Uni, I know plenty who won't go back to Disney after going to Uni. That's a two way street

And I agree, I want good rides. And I don't mind if a ride has screens in it, I am not anti-screen. I think some rides blend the screens in better than other rides. I think my think and what many people have an issue with is the high number of 3D rides. It doesn't help that the next 2 rides will also be 3D and replaced 2 non-3D rides. I just wish Universal would have thought about this when they decided on F&F and Fallon. I feel they are building on their cons, not their pros.

I think it's really hard to say that when the rides are relying on tech that has gotten them accolades from guests and the industry alike. Yes, I agree next year's rides sound like creatively boring, but it's still 2 new rides in a year we're also getting a new park. I'll wait to 1) ride them before completely lamenting them and 2) see what comes next. I think these are just distractions until the next big thing arrives

And USF has an indoor coaster like Mummy, a little dark ride like ET, and a set-laden interactive dark ride in MIB.

So what's your point?

In your opinion. Personally I don't think Gringotts is anything like Transformers. F&F won't be the same as Kong. Fallon and Minions are the only ones I'd say have a chance at being far too similar.

Yes, that's what they're doing. Actively trying to find a way to turn people away. Brilliant.

Fact of the matter is: People like these attractions. Universal wouldn't be adding more and more numbers to their attendance if they didn't. Don't like it? Sorry!

I'm all for great new rides. So far I haven't been disappointed. Next year's rides sound "meh" to me, but I'm getting a kickass water park so I really don't care. Plus, Nintendo is on the horizon. So yay.

I don't know whether you're coming off just as an apologist or just a condescending jerk.

You left out the part in my post where I brought up MiB, mummy, etc., which they don't do anymore, and those rides are being labeled as ready to go. You love screens. Yay! Good for you. Universal is awesome and does no wrong. Awesome!

A lot of people aren't like you and want variety. SORRYZZZZ!!

I never said they were actively trying to turn people away, brilliant way to mislead, twist and outright lie about my post!!!

I have lost all respect for you, if it wasn't clear. You're a child. Have fun in your sandbox. :)

One good things about screens is they have no excuse not to fix it in a reasonable and timely manner, looking at you Yeti AA. Secondly, Disney's new AAs are just mobile dolls with screen faces like....thanks to project mapping.

So here we are again. While people have complemented the AA's within Kong, many have also said they are over the screenz. When will universal stop. With fast and furious in construction, same 360 screen concept and Fallon Screenz, it's time that people go out on the streets. Seriously though, if I see someone from creative at the parks I will tell them, "we the people are over it".

But what if I don't mind the screens as long as the ride is good?

I do not get the motion sickness argument. I have motion sickness issues, bad issues. I take medicine before I ride and enjoy. Now, I can't ride a lot of things back to back, but I know that. I know how to handle my issues and deal with them appropriately. I don't complain about my personal limitations or expect to be catered to b/c of them. You have options out there, know yourself, take advantage of the options and you'll be fine.

Good for you. I think you're in the minority. Like someone else said, it's about variety. Kong sounds like it's great but with fast and the furious coming next door, the uniqueness of the 360 screen goes away. Add to that all the other screen based rides. I don't know how you guys can feel immersed when looking at a screen. Gringotts is different but when it comes to transformers, Simpsons, DM, I just don't get into it. They are fun rides but I feel like they are skippable. However, I always ride E.T.

If that were the case Uni would not be getting more and more popular. I get that you want variety, but it's clear what they're doing is working.

I don't know how people can feel immersed on Pirates when the ceiling looks like a warehouse. I don't know how people can feel immersed on Everest when the back half of the ride is helixes in a big field. I don't know how people can be immersed on Spaceship Earth with all the AAs wonky movements and weird body dimensions.

These are all thoughts that never cross my mind. I'm in a park for fun rides, good theming, and good times with friends and family. I find AAs no more immersive than the way Uni uses sets and screens to display their ride settings. That's my opinion of course. They're all doing the same thing with a different medium. As long as the end result is good, I'm happy.

I agree with DM and Simpsons. Simpsons I only like because it's hilarious. DM is funny, but it's not something I need to ride a lot. Transformers is legit tho. Love that ride.

We can agree there. You realize you chose to respond to me and the worst thing I said was that they needed variety? Sure you care what someone on an internet forum thinks, or else you wouldn't act like a child with no social skills when someone voices a different opinion than you. Your shtick is old and weak.

At any rate, uni needs more variety.
