This is definitely ... a choice for the Animation Courtyard project, and definitely not my pick. At the very least, Launch Bay is finally out the door. That should've been gone pre-pandemic frankly.

I think we're long overdue to add Classic Star Wars elements to the absolutely giant Star Wars land in the back of the park. Splitting the IP three ways across DHS is really dumb.

Putting the Mandalorian and Grogu in Smugglers Run feels like the end of the timeline

Disneyland already confirmed that the SWGE timeline has been broken and is no longer in place. Only a matter of time we get roaming "legacy" characters in WDW like DL already has.

I mean yeah, Disneyland got Young Luke and Rey/Kylo so it seems like the timeline is slowly dyeing which is great for Star Wars fan.....

I know they wont but if I was running things I'd replace the Kylo show with a Vader one and see if has more crowds.....I mean the point of these things are to draw people and if Vader can draw more people add him to the land

I have to admit, having an animatronic figure hosting the drawing class is the kind of "plussing" of an old concept that feels pretty cool.

And the short film is mentioned again, so it doesn't appear to have been cut.

Most definitely. I am caught right inbetween those sentiments.

It's always cool to see a new high-tech animatronic show added to the parks. I think this could be a really fun diversion within DHS which is currently either "Full E-Ticket experience" or "We are playing a 2017 Mickey Mouse cartoon in this room". I think it's a really clever idea to update and plus this former attraction by making the host that teaches you how to draw other Disney characters a famous animated Disney character themself. I also think incorporating influence from the Disney 100 short is a cute detail that could've easily been missed.

I have also worked in this kind of class host position before, and it's so much fun. It's a shame that that job is essentially automated now, outside of EPCOT Festival of the Arts. I worry about rewatchability, because in the past you could go to every class available on a given day and get a different novel experience, because it's a real person deciding how to host in the moment. I've seen teachers at these specific DHS classes take a ton of different routes to teaching, from hosting almost like a calm Bob Ross-type to matching Mushu's irreverent energy, hosting it like a Supercharged preshow. Unless there are an absolute ton of possible characters, and some really great performances by Josh Gad or whatever soundalike they get, I worry about it just growing stale eventually.

I'm certainly interested to see how it goes, and resistant to write this off. Even if it's got some negative quirks to it, it's great to see this kind of experience not only return to the parks but be given the budget necessary for a full animatronic figure. That's an exciting sign for the parks as a whole.

DHS is getting more well rounded. This, plus the new Mermaid and the new Villains show last year are nice alternatives to the D/E ticket stuff.
