No way the underlying ride system will last to 2031. As for why rumors of Pokemon have seemingly gone quiet maybe to things being in flux at Creative. Maybe Wicked or some other IP might be in consideration for this spot.

Looking deeper into that site. Figures are only through May 2025. The site states Canadian arrivals 1, 283,000 in May 2025 ...% change from
2024 minus 25.6 %......2025 YTD 7,061,907 down minus 16.8% from 2024 ...No figures for June or July yet. Recent business reports were the tourist decline had been accelerating this summer.

The airline forums with actual flight and insider data said Canadian airlines scaled back too much and are now adding flights back.

This narrative has been completely overblown a little.

He's not a worthwhile source by any means, but I heard this a few months ago. Though the number I heard was not 5 years.

If they intend on keeping the ride open with the land for an extension, then it desperately needs to be closed to at least replace the projectors. The screen has become so blurred and the vehicle movements are slightly delayed and it's very nauseating (and I don't even get motion sick!).

Something I have been pondering recently:

At the beginning of the year Alicia posted: "Just because Simpsons has to close doesn't mean Universal has to immediately replace it." I might be reading too much into this, but to me, it sounds like something has cooled behind the scenes and Pokemon might not be as locked in as it used to.

My theory is this: The Pokemon Company is notoriously strict about protecting their IP and the way it is revealed. Tomfoolery's post in March of 2024 stating that USF's Pokemon ride will not be a clone of Japan's might have spooked the Pokemon Company and made them believe Universal can't keep their house in order as far as keeping confidential details under wraps. And as a result Pokemon for USF could have very well been iced.

Nintendo themselves also like their secrecy yet all the Nintendo leaks didn’t phase them at all. We even had art and computer renders of very early concepts. I doubt TPC is even more strict than Nintendo is.

Yeah, I don't buy this at all... Pokémon is very notorious for leaks, no matter the medium. Not to mention the fact that Pokémon already has an active partnership with USJ. Obviously, there's no guarantee that Orlando will get an eventual Pokémon land, but I am highly skeptical that this would be enough to severe their partnership.

The difference is the Pokemon attraction for USJ was already deep in development and had broken ground before Tomfoolery's leak regarding the one for Florida.

On a side note I feel the "long seven years" post in May 2024 regarding the 2031 opening timeline for the UK resort almost a full year before the April 2025 confirmation is what did the Tomfoolery account in. It was the last major tease before the account was muted, and could have a been a middle finger to NBCU by the person behind the account, almost if they knew Universal's legal and security teams had their eyes on them and they were toast, so they decided to go out with a bang.

I have a habit of that. Even if the "long seven years" post wasn't done as a middle finger, I still think it was a tipping point in Tomfoolery's demise. When the execs caught wind of the post they probably said: "Strike three. This account is now officially ahead of major announcements. We cannot have this continue."
