My question is, if it is indeed closing, what's it for?

The best guess would be something Potter related, of course. Could WB/JKR be pushing for something related to Fantastic Beasts be ready at the park for the opening of the movie next year?

Or, just a cost-cutting measure while they prepare for their next big investments. If youre expanding as fast as Universal, why waste money on a show that's possibly not doing good numbers or scoring low on surveys?

I would doubt very much that would happen. If that didn't happen when the resort was floundering, there's no way they'd do it when they were making crazy money

Ok, I have checked and found out that there was indeed a meeting tonight... final results are unknown as it may still be going on... but I have been advised that such a meeting doesn't bode well. Let's await results later on and then we can all stare dumbly and wonder what is going on.

Did any member here know that something was imminent for this location? I certainly did not.

No clue, I always assumed it would be Potter down the line. Definitely an interesting situation

Interesting. Hopefully someone here can get details of the meeting, though I'm sure the Team Members will be given NDA's to sign.

Those are usually signed on the way in, not on the way out. I am awaiting a text to confirm the end of days or that they are all receiving a 70% pay increase.

It also reminds me of what happened with Beetlejuice where they just re-cast and revamped the show.

Indeed but BJ's meeting wasn't held on a Friday Night at the end of the month, at the end of a pay cycle...

If the show is indeed closing, do you think we will get a notice of a closing date?

Hmmm, we hear a rumor that they are going to throw an extra $100+ M at the US parks followed by this.

Curious.

Ok, so it is the next day and we continue to be in the dark regarding this meeting last night. I assume the show continues to run today?

Yup, showtimes today are 12:30, 2, and 4:30 according to the sign outside the theater.

I agree but I hope not unless it involves being an attraction of some sort too but that's difficult for Universal to pull of apparently.

This view may be out of left field, but....When I saw the show last spring and fall there seemed to be a lot of effects that didn't work. So much so that there was a significant change in the areas of the stage that the show occupied compared to the previous shows I had seen. Example; They rarely used the ship at all. Perhaps they are going to use some of that extra budget to refurb the effects and the meeting was called to announce a short refurb shutdown for the future. Crazy guess since the show is really corny and mostly young kid oriented and not very good, but I just wanted to throw that possibility out there if anyone feels like discussing that aspect.
