I just feel like... if they build a Pokemon land at Islands of Adventure and it sucks, I'll complain about it then. I don't see a lot of utility in doing so before we even know what they're planning on building. I'll keep an open mind and complain when they give me a reason to.

Nintendo is a share holder in pokemon but pokemon is separate from Nintendo. Pokemon already is in an area not related to pokemon in japan at USJ (all pokemon events happen in the new york area).

I think their replacement for the Spiderman attraction is going to be Pokemon also, but I haven't checked recently for details

Correct. It's replacing the Spiderman ride in the New York section of USJ, basically the same location where Mummy sits in USF.

I have zero interest in Pokémon and even less interest in Wicked.

However, NEARLY anything (I do NOT want Supercharged II) is better than the current nothing.

The day they started doing that was a bit of a visual shock walking down the side path and realizing I could see past the trees so easily. It’ll be sad to see it all go because even Epic doesn’t have something which hits the same atmosphere/vibes, though some of what I feel is nostalgia since LC hasn’t been whole in years.

I like Pokémon moving into this area over Zelda for personal reasons and I’m super excited to see it! Gonna miss seeing the Poseidon facade every day though. :(

The architecture and music will be greatly missed. IOA won't feel like IOA anymore without those background loops.

I'm really hoping they can somehow be added to the Port of Entry area loop.

That would be ideal, but I just don't know if that's even the sort of thing anyone at Universal even thinks about.

Or maybe I'm just jaded by what Disney did to Epcot's incredible music.

Given that the IOA soundtrack got officially uploaded to YouTube and music steaming sites, they at least seem to acknowledge it to some degree.

I’m personally obsessed with these. They need to embrace themselves more and this is a good step.

It's a potentially good sign, but like we were talking about in the HRRR demo thread, UDX is a hydra of a company. Their marketing and online presence teams might care about this stuff, but will the sound techs and theming operators overseeing the in-park BGM care? It's a genuine question. We can only hope.

I'm going to argue that I'd prefer Pokemon not to be in USF specifically because of events like Horror Nights. Diagon Alley works enough because its enclosed from all other lands, which means the flow still somewhat works and is free of disruption. I always disliked that Simpsons land (besides a couple of things recently) remains mostly normal during these events.

I know Horror Nights is only a couple of months throughout a year, but I'd love to see them bring ideas to USF that still allows them to fully utilize each land during events. Heck, if Fan Fest grows to Orlando, you could utilize the space for those events as well. I think there are enough interesting IPs that Universal has at its disposal where you can make sure the park still gets full utilization during the events.

Which leads me to my main point: I'd love for USF to remain an events park and consistently have different "festivals" each month. Mardi Gras, Horror Nights, Christmas, maybe eventually Fan Fest could fill up the calendar.

This is a legitimately good argument for not including a third-party IP like Pokemon in Springfield, no matter how good it would be for the park during daily-ops. HHN is a major part of USF's operating routine, and the event does *not* need another London waterfront-style dead zone. We saw that happen to Springfield for a number of years, and it always led to a significant drop in kinetics and entertainment offerings once you've left Central Park that spans all the way to Old Amity.

As brought up before, Super Mario Land was going behind a big wall, fitting neatly into that Kidzone cubby off to the side path. Dreamworksland wasn't open at all last event and no one really noticed, and that's likely how SNW would've been. (Although, it probably would've been operating haha). Springfield is significantly more expansive and important for event operation.

An in-house IP (Wicked, Shrek, etc) would certainly be ideal for that locations' use as an event space year-round, as UDX would likely be given a lot more free reign over something they fully or partially own. Snoggletog in Berk, a zone right thru the middle of Minionland, Mardi Gras decor in HMUS, etc.

For what it's worth....We had dinner at Mythos last week and expressed our regrets that Mythos will probably close.
The long tenure servers we had, and the lead, said they have been told by management that they have 12 to 18 months
before it's closed. They hadn't heard anything about what the replacement would be....They treated us well with
a complimentary dessert.....Universal and Loews gave us a good number of comps when we mentioned how long our vacation was.
Really extraordinary treatment.

this aligns with my take on how the demolition and early construction plans should go. They should be able to leave the guest pathway and mythos open for a while while they work on the attractions on the other side of the path.
