Now that this one is announced, I'm happy for those who wanted to see this IP come to the event. I can imagine they're feeling the same way I felt for IP's and concepts that I wanted such as FNaF, Dolls, Galkn etc.
As for where this'll go in the anticipated rank for me, well I've alluded to it multiple times and flat-out said it when this was first strongly rumored, and I'm a man of my word. Right at #10. Personally for me, this is the first IP which I don't care for. Outside of good practical effects, and David Howard Thorton can do an excellent job of regular clowning around...I bounced off pretty hard on this series.
On top of that, I had a feeling if they were doing a house, the main selling point would be it's a very bloody/gory house, and that is exactly what they're doing. Thing is, that doesn't move the needle for me. Blood n' guts are a nice addition to houses where it fits, but it's usually never the thing that drives me to see a house. It's generally the theme, concept, creatures and so forth. I will say there IS and IP with a whole lotta' blood that I would see it for, but I'll get to that at the end.
Put those things together, plus the sheer fact this house will most likely get consistent big lines, and it's pretty logical why this is dead last in anticipation for me. Now with all that said, I'm still going in with an open mind and there's a chance I could end up liking it. In the past couple years there's been houses in my anticipated #10 rank which shot up into the top 3. (Lookin' at you, Exorcist: Believer and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire!) So there's always a chance it could happen, if not...then I'll just simply spend my time hitting up the houses which I do enjoy, nothin' wrong with that.
I'll also say I'm tickled by the sounds of this wet finale, might be a good (or bad?) thing I'm attending opening night depending how long it lasts. But if we're spraying/soaking folks, can we get a GWAR house please?
