So they're removing a 3D attraction, will the tour still require 3D glasses? Orlando removed 3D from Kong, why not Hollywood? Unless the Supercharged replacement is also 3D. If the replacement opens "soon", I'm assuming they'll repurpose the screen tunnel?

I will say, this isn't my fully original idea but rather Theme Snark's from YT that I decided to add upon. Best idea would have to be BTTF. But not in the way that everyone thinks. Instead of having it be a chase with Biff or some other BTTF character, have Doc instead try and show off a new Flux Capacitor that can be positioned on the Tram. They'd be able to reuse the first waiting room as some sort of vacant lab with many pieces of equipment from the Institute of Future Technology. Then the party scene can be reused with a Doc pepper's ghost effect and even the car lift can be reused with the DeLorean lifting from the underground garage. Hijinx are explained and the Tram is moved to the main screen room where the Flux Capacitor is attached and from there, we start whipping all over the place to all sorts of different past attractions from the Tour's history. They can include the Avalanche Run, the Collapsing Bridge, the Rockslide, maybe even a scene of some chainsaw maniacs running towards the Tram as a reference to TT, and end it off with all 3 minutes of Fast and Furious: Extreme Close-Up to have this all truly come full circle. Or they can end it off with a scene regarding a more 'intense' Battlestar Galactica ending (though don't know about the rights related to that) before Doc brings us back to the present time and ends off with "The future is what you make it, so make it a good one." Or something else that'll inspire the kiddos. Let's be real, once Simpsons dies, BTTF isn't going back there so this is THE place to integrate BTTF in a permanent manner. I for one am kinda sad that Supercharged is leaving because I ironically liked it for just how wild it was and also because my mom, who's a massive Fast and Furious fan, won't be able to ride Hollywood Drift due to health reasons so this was a big thing for her and it didn't matter how 'bad' the section was, I always had a blast just being in there with her and seeing her smile as the chaos was happening. And that's what truly breaks my heart. Hopefully we get something of value and not some Wicked ending like some of the GP are chanting for in social media.

Why not have this be the 2025 addition? After all, IF it ends up being a retheme, it wouldn't take long and they'd be able to market something for this year.

There is no way this retheme is going to open up this year. I also doubt they will want this to “conflict” with Hollywood Drift. Besides, if this is the big overhaul I think this is going to be (No inside info. Just spitballing) the timeline to redo this would line up perfectly for 2027.

I'd normally agree, but it's the Studio Tour. I can't imagine that they'll leave the finale closed for so long. That, and Universal says that they'll announce a replacement soon instead of just saying Supercharged is closed for future developments like they normally do.

I don't even remember what the finale was before Supercharged and they marketed that addition (like King Kong) as a whole new attraction. That's what makes me think they're likely to space these additions out. But, who knows, I have no intel.

I'd counter that Supercharged Replacement + New Tram Host + Hollywood Drift would make for a killer 2026 year for "new additions".

It'd make it essentially on-par with 2015 with Springfield + Nighttime Studio Tour + Supercharged. The difference being, it'd be a better overall package

This is exactly why I also believe we're getting a replacement a lot sooner than later. Uni isn't the type to announce replacements far in advance. Hell, we're lucky we even got any acknowledgement from them about Hollywood Drift otherwise they'd end up announcing the ride's opening date after it's opening date had passed.

There have actually been surveys sent out garnering interest in what people want. One of them being something that'd be a perfect finale for the Studio Tour.

Yeah, I got one of those surveys. It was sent out quite a while ago, at least 6-12 months ago. They threw out a lot of various ideas. While obviously there's no telling what they'll settle on, many great classic properties, both old and newer, were mentioned. And basically, all of them sounded pretty good... so if they did anything from those surveys, I'd be fine with it.
