Yeah, that's as crazy as Internet forums that have connections to Disney insiders.

If the ride isn’t ready, they won’t open the land until it is. So, no matter what, the ride will be ready when the land opens.

Yeah not sure how there is a difference. Don’t see how a Facebook group couldn’t have them also.

Off of a Facebook group that seems to have folks with connections to insiders running it.

I find it hard to believe. But I absolutely think they would open the land even if one ride isn't ready.

If they have a half billion dollar investment sitting there, that could start making MASSIVE money, even with one ride, it's opening. No doubt about that.

They've promised Galaxy's Edge to open, not the rides. The average park goer would not even know the second ride was supposed to be opened, and would be happy with everything else.

The average park goer also does not like to be deceived and they would undoubtedly spread bad word of mouth from their experience if Disney opened without both rides.

You also have to remember, Disney's gonna be flying in a TON of media for this opening so they want the rides to be working not only for the little guided tours Disney may give them, but because many may try to report on opening day and if it's a crapshow, Disney can say bye to that puff piece because the one reading "STAR WAS LAND OPENING BOTCHED" is a much more interesting and intriguing headline/story.

I have no clue the source of the rumor. But Disney will likely make a $1MM profit, not including increased admission, minimum a week once the land opens. Much more if they can get a Butterbeer equivalent.

The media could be given rides still, even if it's the handicap pod.

If the rumor is true, my guess is it's Disney throwing in the towel for the stupid interactivity where a neck beard or 4 year old can ruin the ride for 5 people who waited 3 hours. That would create more negative press than spoiled media people getting limited access to SR.

But, as I said, I have no clue how real the rumor is. But I believe it as much as I believe RotR is going to be 7+ minutes long, and that you leave one vehicle for another (wait, that was already proven wrong).

And you realize most people who go at open will only get on one ride in a day anyway, so....

Correct me if I’m wrong, but no official opening date has been set or announced by the Disney company, correct? And I don’t believe the CEO being quoted as saying June counts as an official announcement.

If Rise of the Resistance wasn’t ready, maybe that they could open without... but this whole land was sold to the public with the “You get to pilot the Millennium Falcon” tagline. If it’s not ready, the land isn’t ready.

Now, of course, I’m not saying they couldn’t “soft open” the rest of the land and the other ride in the weeks leading up to it if it’s all ready, but it would be a bad business decision to announce an actual opening date (month and day) and not have the one attraction people know about not be ready on that day.

OMG the image they used in the FB group is perfect though. I love it!

If it’s not open in time it’s because they are dumbing it down. Still seems unlikely. I’d think they would delay the land instead of opening without one of its star attractions

That guy is labeled as a former Research Technician at Lucasfilm. I would trust this info as far as I can throw it

See, I think it's the total opposite. They could open the land without Star Tours 3, but MUST have the first massive E ticket dark ride Disney has built in the US in decades.

Oh enough with you already. Star Tours 3? Maybe tone it down a little.

Disneyland Paris just announced that they will be selling a special Fastpass package that is limited to the three Star Wars themed attractions *Star Tours *Star Wars Hyperspace Mt. * Reserved viewing area for Galactic show......I'm wondering if this may be a 'test run' for GESWL in DHS when it opens. :?:

That's intriguing.

Though it's possible he misspoke and meant to say "calendar year" instead of "fiscal year." I would expect he's almost always talking about fiscal years, so maybe it just slipped in there.

But still, it's at least a partial indication that they would prefer to get the land open before the massive holiday rush.

Seeing the construction yesterday, I still think they can hit September as long as the ride systems are cooperating.
