Ride starts at scene 4 or 5 I believe.

Will the queue before the pre-show be anything special? Or will it just be a maze of switch backs?

No idea, but I believe the scene numbers start with the first preshow.

I have my fingers crossed for the after hours events if I ever want to ride these in the next decade. Say what you will on whether it's worth the price, not having to fight with as many people is worth it.

I will agree with this, I did DAK after hours and rode FOP 4 times in a row in the span of about 30 mins or so.

Confirms my suspicions on the matter! Yes, it costs about the same as a day ticket, but if you're fine with staying up and maximizing your ride times, it seems to be more bang for the buck.

Although, once GE is open, I'm sure the DHS ticket is going to skyrocket a bit. I wouldn't be surprised to see GE exclusive access (not unlike WWoHP's early admission) to hotels or affluential guests.

Are you referring to the Early Magic hours? The After Hours is a hard ticket event about the same cost as admission.

People just don't seem to understand that adding capacity is not directly in line with adding revenue anymore. Disney has use MM+ as a means to cut everything they can to the bone while they max revenue. If Disney stands to make the most money from having people book at higher rates early to secure fast passes without making those an obvious pay to play system then they win. The more they allocate to the system the more money they make for people feeling this is "required" and the less blame they take from bad experiences from people acting like you should have stayed on site if you wanted to do things.

Disney is not going to open this land with a ride not open/working. The bad press from that would do FAR more harm than good. If word of mouth for the land turns negative quickly, that could severely harm Disney's earnings estimates if people decide to skip out because they heard bad things.

Disney will make sure the rides in this land are running pretty reliably before they open.

4 times in 30 mins? How is that possible? Did they let you skip the neverending (2) prequeues? If so, that’s worth it in and of itself.

Unless the ride building catches fire a week before it’s set to open, it’s opening with the land.

It felt like 30 but it may have been a little longer than 30 mins. They let you go through the fast pass line so that does cut some time off. No unfortunately you still have to do the preshows and uhh .... fly.
