I was wondering if the shop for star tours is still open and what areas around the ride been closed off. Like can you still get near the scenery around the ride. It for my friend who is going next month.

I was just there yesterday and they still had the star tours store open and all they have closed off in the front of the ride is the actual entrance into the building with the ride. All of the scenery out side is still there from what I remember before they closed it it doesn't look like they took anything outside yet. My guess is since it is supposed to open in May that they would start changing the outside if they are going to even change anything outside( I would prefer them to keep it the way it looks now it looks fine the way it is) they would start around February or early March depending on how much they are going to change.

While this isn’t major news… insiders tell us that Imagineering has at least one cabin set up to view and begin the motion programming on the new ride film sequences at Disneyland.

I imagine if this is being done is Disneyland, it is being done in DHS since they are both opening in mid May.

Star Wars Weekends is going to be a madhouse this year . Can't complain about that though, always good to see some SW love.

Definitely will be quite a bit crazy, and now that I have an AP, I will be going back, just gotta wait to see who will be there :thumbs:

I think I'll probably pass on going to see the new Star Tours when it first comes out. I figure I'll wait about three or four months for the hype to die down, so I can walk through it easier earlier in the day.

I will wait til the crowds die down and then make it the last ride of the day, can only ride sims once before they start making me sick. That is when I make it back to Disney in the Fall.

I really can't wait for this. Star Tours I was one of my favorite attractions and I am very excited for what is in store for II. I will definetaly be out there Star Wars Weekend to check it out.

I've been hearing the "news" of the May 20 open date the last couple days all over the place........ Am I crazy, or have we not known this for a few months now? I've had that date in my head already for a while now....

Yeah, that's why I thought we already had this date -- because I could swear they already mentioned it as the first weekend of SWW. Or maybe that was my assumption? Or maybe I heard it at Celebration V at the Disney panel? Or maybe Miss Cleo told me.

I thought they said May 17th, but you're right, I think we had a definite date.
