Irrelevant. Haunted Mansion and Small World don't have familiar stories. Should we knock them down as well?

Haunted Mansion is self contained, it works. It's a house with ghosts.

Small World, knock it down it is terrible and as far as I know it doesn't even have a story and could be put to far better use. I mean c'mon I know Walt was a racist but do the "Asian" kids really need slitty eyes and massive toothy grins...its 2012 right?

1. Small World is one of Walt's greatest accomplishments.
2. Your opinion of being terrible is that of the minority.
3. The Story, even though it is pretty plain jane, is that of peace amongst our differences (color, race, ethnicity, religion) and celebrates children around the world.

Not to be that guy but I believe Pirates and HM are far greater in execution/accomplishment than Small World..I like what it stands for and everything, but I just don't like it..I guess I don't have the nostalgic attachment. I could see why some would though..for a theme park attraction its theme is risky..

I don't think this was meant to be racist, but more used to identify the children of where you are...that's a typical feature, it doesn't mean it's racist. I think just saying saying an Asian has "slitty eyes" is a racist statement has shown just how politically correct we have gotten. Racism is more disliking somebody because of their race, not describing a feature.

So the ride about world peace is racist.

Makes sense.

Also, "STORY" is the worst way to determine what is a good attraction

Is that why Club 33 allows it?

Yup. Club 33 makes the arguments irrelevant.

I didn't say Small World was the greatest accomplishment, just one of. I don't get where you would get being "risky" from though....

If it was accepted in the 60's, during a time of racial division, I'm sure it's a lot more accepted now.

Nope. Club 33 is a different ball game, being that it was designed as a private club for Walt to personally entertain specific guests.

Not really, but whatever floats your boat.

Plus the fact that I didn't use Disneyland, just the Magic Kingdom.

Oh, so he didn't want alcohol in the park he wasn't alive to see completed or make decisions on....just the one he was a part of?

Alcohol in a park, is alcohol in a park. This rationale that it's making Walt turn in his grave is asinine. If anything is making him turn over, it's the current state of TDO. Not beer/wine on a dinner menu. Either way, Walt did allow the sale of alcohol when Holidayland was around (granted outside the berm, but nonetheless still part of the park). If alcohol wasn't already a part of the other parks, I'd get the discontent. But it has been for years now with no problems other than a few boneheads (and before it starts, those same boneheads can always sneak in booze and let loose just the same). When Disneyland was opened, and MK was being planned, it was a different time. Couples slept in different beds after all.

Regardless, this isn't the thread for the discussion. Back to Splash.
