I know the west coast is different but trying to think how this makes sense, I think 98% of people have no idea that there local park and the closest six flags are the same company now.

So it’s kinda like get a Knotts pass and btw did you know we own magic moutian now? Go visit. Same vise versa

I’ve already convinced 4 people to get the mvp pass who haven’t been to any cedar fair or six flags parks since the pandemic. It’s too good a deal to say no. Plus I’m gonna buy my mom, sister one and make my dad and step mom get one since they said they wanted to go to merry farm this year anyways.

Just in my inner circle they are gonna get 8 more season passes

That’s 100% the point. They’ve already announced that Six Flags America outside DC is closing. The issue is that while there will be forced efficiencies at a corporate level and efficiencies if they can take rides from closed parks to add to others, they’re just going to be walking away from markets from a revenue side. Sure they’ll sell SFA to a condo/subsivision developer, but there’s basically no overlap between that park’s anttendance and KD despite being only 100 miles apart. I think they’re just going to end up as a smaller company that is no more profitable than the individual parts were before.

Right now, they're worried about the payment of debt, and survival.

Insane, so they merged to just cut parks that separately they would have to cut as well

This is why people hate Mergers, this was so useless.

We in CA got lucky, like we get knotts for cheaper...cool but was not worth this crap. You need to invest more into the parks before being like "we can't make money"

Not a surprise. Some of us have been saying this would happen when the merger was announced.....and....next up
on the docket is United Parks with a disappointing quarterly report, even though they packed their parks with
discounted and/or free tickets. In their quarterly report they made a big deal about how much their owned land
was worth. Now that's a signal they're going to close down and/or sell some or all of their parks..........There's just not
enough teenagers/early twenties coming of age to ride all those poor decision coasters they all put in instead of
diversifying their parks to attract all age groups.

Genuinely not a surprise. I also would expect the tenure of Warner Bros. IP's to be soon departing from SFCorp, regardless of whoever grabs it.

SFCorp's looking to find the means to get a quick buck, when this absolutely shouldn't of happened.

I don't think this is really it, though. I mean, I think it's certainly part of it. But if these coaster parks were run very well and were great places to spend a day, they'd be doing much better. Alas, here we are in this reality instead.

They'd be better places to spend a day, for a wider range of age groups, if they had a more diversified attraction line up. Even now,
when they talk of adding new, it's almost always a coaster. That just puts them deeper in the future demographic hole. Most of
these parks rid themselves of non coaster attractions in the past three decades, and killed live entertainment. They really don't have
much to offer, except coasters. The key to success is usually moderation. They abandoned diversification and glued their parks
to a limited demographic, and it's a demographic that doesn't make much money..
Some of their parks will survive and do OK. Knott's is still a 'diversified' park and should be fine. Cedar Point area and park is a family
'vacation' destination for people in the Midwest, and it will always be OK, though it needs to return to some of the entertainment and
types of attractions that guests loved before CP went into coaster overdrive, to make it a better park. And there are some others, but
they can all be better if they would diversify a bit, with broader attraction types and a return of live entertainment.

Shows

We need more shows

Knotts shows literally fill up...I hear the Snoopy holiday show if you dont show up an hour before it opens you can't get a seat most shows...so Six Flags needs to put in more shows guests want to help draw more families and other people outside the coaster lovers and teens

Well here's the property listing for Six Flags America. Does anybody want to chip in a few million and make our own theme park?

The focus is always on ROI and with parks that devolved into new rides that brought people in and eventually fast passes. Shows never did that but I feel like we definitely need more live entertainment in our current theme park styles in this era.

It sucks (most mergers do…do antitrust measure even exist anymore?). But from what I can tell, Cedar Fair has always emphasized quality additions relative to Six Flags; over the past few years, a lottttt of the low-capacity and experimental rides making their way across the SF chain seemed to indicate they were stretched thin.

If offloading lower-performing parks is a way to maintain better QA and increase the seasonal investments in each high-performing park, it may not be a terrible thing in the long run…

Unfortunately, some execs look at entertainment as something that should attract a daily count like a ride attraction. But it doesn't work
that way. Entertainment is the thing that plusses a theme or amusement park and makes it a tempting and enjoying experience
for a wide range of guests. It's the icing on the cake. Without it, the cake isn't as satisfying.
