Really they are? Thankfully someone in management is starting to notice this. Hopefully this begins a push for rides that are not screen/3D based.

The park is popular and guests enjoy the attractions, but I really hope that the high ups and management realize that non-fans and casual visitors DO complain that the park is becoming almost entirely screen based. I hear a lot of my own friends complain about it and say that is why they don't wanna visit USH, and I've heard it first person from guests inside the park. I really hope they start changing that up...ASAP.

Yeah guys, keep in mind this is just a rumor, and if anything won't be happening anytime soon. Everyone relax, it's not like you guys want Shrek to stay anyways, lol.

Pfft... I want Shrek to stay  :P   I enjoy the film, its great & amusing (even if "dragon fire" killing a ghost makes no sense lol)

While I was at the park yesterday, I ducked out of the wet weather and did this. I was met with an interesting surprise, there was NO DONKEY SHOW... (yea I said it) ...in the dungeon (okay, THAT made it worse lol).. But yea, no Donkey in the pre-show. The Magic Mirror didn't do the Shrek recap, but everything else was more or less the same. I don't remember exactly what time I did this, so not sure if the Donkey puppeteer/voice actor was "gone for the day" or what.

It has definitely been a few months since I've done this attraction, my god I forgot how much I don't care for the "bumpy carriage" simulation. Oh yea... I noticed there seemed to be a lack of water effects last night too. Not sure what was up with that.

I hope you are right. I don't want USH to turn into the California version of Wanda Movie Park.

So...they got indoor rip offs of Toy Story Midway Mania, Star Tours, T23D, a Shrek/Supercharged hybrid, a simulated version of Earthquake/Backdraft, and Soarin'. Sweet...lmfao.

At 1:54, I'm pretty sure that's the exact tech/simulator that Jimmy Fallon's NY ride is gonna use.

If you've been pulled to take one of the park's survey in recent months there is a section about guest's thoughts on the number of 3D/screen based attractions in the park and if there are too many. There is definitely a concern.

Haha nice. I like the giant simulator, even if that's supposedly a version of the Fallon ride to come. (not exactly)

Ha ha ha!

Honestly though, that "park" looks like a lot of fun. It's what DisneyQuest should have been or would be if built today.

Placing this here, due to it being the second time that the rumor has popped up. The first by Galin and now, thanks to Unifreak.

The second thing I heard was that New York street would be expanded with a theater facade located near/attached to the current emergency exits of Shrek. The theater facade would be the entrance for the Race through New York attraction that Orlando will be opening. Following the Potter rush, will be interesting to see what will happen with Shrek, I truly believe it will be gone first chance they get.

Last I heard Race through New York wouldn't be happening until after 2018; regardless, if the rumor is popping up more frequently it should go to show that there might be more fuel to the fire than previously thought.

Just a reminder that just because more than one or another team member mentions it doesn't mean it's true. A lot of team members and cast members from Universal and Disney have been known to read a rumor online just like any of us, believe it themselves, and then pass it off as "inside" info to guests in a never ending loop of who heard it first. I know that's especially true of Disney cast members. Unless it pertains directly to their current position or about them being reassigned a role in the park, they won't always be kept in the loop about upcoming or secret projects. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Lots of factors play in. Just want us to keep that in mind when we look at these rumors :)

I'll agree that it could be just a simple rumor, but theres something that can be said; there is just a small slimmer of smoke for this rumor. So if we hear more of the rumor, I think it would make valid sense that RTNY would come.

I'm personally really mixed on the idea. While I have nothing against Shrek other than feeling that the attraction is very outdated. I would love to see us get away from screen based attractions, would replacing one with another be a good thing? I'm on the fence. I feel if it were to happen, using current celebrities as rumored would also date the attraction very quickly. If there was a plan to update the celebrity portions somewhat normally, it could be a cool thing. Guess it really comes down to who or what you prefer to watch. I am not a fan of Jimmy on the tonight show, for no reason in particular. I have watched it less than ten times since he took over. If I was watching TV and had to choose Shrek over the tonight show, there would probably be a orge and donkey on my screen.

When it rains, it pours.

And it seems to be pretty clear skies out right now for the most part. Tis a shame... I'd like it to be all ogre now.

We have enough Jimmy Fallon in the park with the Studio Tour... we don't need more. Orlando doesn't even need it to begin with, but that's another story entirely. (RIP Twister). This whole corporate synergy thing needs to stop. If its a movie, sure fine whatever (except the last movie tie-in attraction was a 'Disaster'... *looks at Supercharged* ...yes that was originally an unintentional joke until I reread it lol)..

Whats next? Are we going to get "The Voice Experience" (which is in no way me poking fun at Disney's former American Idol Experience at DHS... oh wait yes it is). I really shouldn't joke about that because knowing Comcast, they'd see this post & think its a genius idea.

Okay, dudes. Take a step back and look at the facts. Twister's show building is much bigger than Shrek 4D, is taller and has a different layout. Shrek's queue, pre-show and main show were redone which cost quite a bit even if we take out of mind all of the temporary stuff while WWoHP was under construction (the tent/hallway of fun), add in that Shrek also butts against the employee walkways including backstage for WW and Take 5, is very unlikely that they will move into that. And, if we shoehorn Fallon in, that requires a huge IMAX screen. The showbuilding for Twister already had one of those. Shrek's roof would have to be expanded far up for that not including the prior theater wings on the backend of the building.

Remember that Shrek is literally adjacent to Potter. Whatever construction that comes with a replacement, for anything in the immediate timeframe would have to be fairly simple to meet WB/JK's contract and not impede on the land. Race Thru New York was created specifically for the Orlando resort and was done since Comcast did not like that one of their biggest assests failed to have any presence in their flagship resort. Jimmy Fallon already has presence in Hollywood on the tour, and will stay as long as Fallon stays a popular commodity. So there is no need at all for this attraction to exist at USH.

My guess as to why we have two people piping in rumors? A game of team member telephone. You won't believe how muddled these people's knowledge of Orlando is, they may work at Universal but they're no theme park experts. All it takes is for someone to mistake Twister for Shrek, and Fallon's "ride" is in "4D". You sit down in Fallon. Your seat moves. Now, Fallon =/= Shrek but you can see where the confusion may lie. So, in other words:

Team Member #1: Hey did you hear Shrek is being replaced by a Jimmy Fallon ride in Orlando?!

Team Member #2: What?! No way! So does that mean--

Team Member #1: Uh, totally. Just like we got Harry Potter, Fallon's gotta replace Shrek!

And then the legend goes on... in short, Race Thru New York at USH? Don't hedge your bets.

Big news for the studio, and big news for the theme parks.
