I wish the refurb was extended a few extra days but I digress, the refurb is probably just Effect maintenance and maybe touchup on the outside.

Would that warrant a temporary closure, though? If I'm not mistaken, there have been occasions where the forest portion of the queue has been used alone while the section facing Hogwarts wasn't.

I wouldn't be mad if this was the case, obviously, but I just feel like that's something that could be accomlplished after park hours.

Very true. This closure just seems so random and short to me. Not that Shrek would require an extensive refurbishment but the past few times Shrek closed were for Potter reasons. Maybe they are just being meticulous on how they plant those trees to block out the building haha. Again not saying this will happen but it wouldn't surprise me if this downtime is for Potter-related stuff.

It seems there's still work they need to do in order to mask Shrek's presence from within Hogsmeade. Maybe they'll be putting a wall up where there's currently just a wooden fence? I'd imagine they don't want Smash Mouth and Counting Crows music spilling into the Wizarding World.

Given Shrek's recent upgrades, I think it'll be sticking around for a pretty long time.

I guess so, it's just that the shrek 4d film is getting really old, it's been there for 12 years already. I would really like to see it become a part of the wizarding world of harry potter, but oh well...

Shrek is only kept around because USH needs an attraction for kids who don't meet the height requirements. Also it acts like a filler to regulate crowds. It's not going away anytime soon.
