It might die off because of reviews but for now its like one the highest opening for a horror film ever

on the one hand I always feel glad when a.ovie does well, button the other hand, this always shows me that good writing is just not necessary (like with the Jurassic world movies)
why should they do a better job writing for scream 8 or the next Jurassic world movie when it doesn't really matter lol :lmao:
(I bring up last Jurassic world because the story for that movie was really bad but it did so well )

I think if they keep making them with BS reveals at some point people will leave

Saw had that issue as well the first films work because the twists were good and the connections makes sense.....the villains in this one just suck and thats why on a rewatch it won't be as good for me.

The killers in this one were fine when you apply the notion they're psychotic & completely mentally unstable. We literally got an insane asylum in this movie lol

Sure the past killers weren't exactly sane, but their motives were mostly revenge driven. Except Jill & Amber/Richie who were fame driven so insanity was definitely a factor. Which is why I was surprised Jill didn't have a highly convenient cliché cameo at the mental institution.

Circling back to this movie's killers, it wouldn't feel so underwhelming for people if Stu had been the mastermind puppeteer all along. They'd just be pawns on his chess board.

Agree to disagree but I think that is a big reason why this film isn't a top tier Scream film because the killers reveal wasn't interesting

Its made money because its a new Scream and it will be interesting to see what kind of legs it has. Like I said its not like a bad film but the ending was meh, I'm sure sequel will connect to it in some way and try to make it connect more and make sense but I just didn't really care they even died while in the last three films its be satisfying to see the killers get theirs

This movie just felt like a big 2-part storyline, kinda like how 5 & 6 are pretty clearly a 2-part storyline. But unlike the clean very clear ending with no real continuation setup of 6, this one feels like it isn't finished.

Especially with the Ghostface animatronic in the opening saying "I'm not finished yet".

This movie definitely made up for the lack of kills complaints in the previous. "Too many survivors? Hold my voice-changer" *stab-stab-stab* lol

I wonder why they didn't use Stu like that

and if they say it's because they wanna use him for the next one, that's really lame

actually, with how universally hated and just absolutely despised Artificial intelligence is in the entire world, I'm surprised they even went that way for this movie,
not just surprised but I'm shocked. even if it was the villains using ai, I'm just shocked the writer did that.

why bring it up at all? and I'm surprised it doesn't have bigger backlash for bringing up and using it as a plot point.

According to reports, there was a post credits reveal showing that the Stu "AI" facetime calls weren't AI, it was really him. Test audiences hated it, so that post-credit reveal was cut.

Scream always likes to play off the latest trends, so the killer's use of AI/Deep-Fake makes total sense even if it wasn't fully executed very well (again- AI Dewey should've been used to call Gale, especially after she pops the pill to help her depression about Dewey)

The most unrealstic part is anyone over 30 being able to make a deep Fake AI....and in this case AI faces

I think the issue that some people are pushing up against (whether they realize it or not) is that, at this point, it's going to be very hard to come up with a killer reveal and motive that is actually surprising or original.

I have been requesting the series to do one thing for a while...
(reveal who GhostFace is during the opening scene)
... but I don't think they're likely to go there because they still want these to be mysteries (to some extent). But if the mystery's solution is often underwhelming to people, perhaps we can leave that element behind now.

I like the idea of knowing who one (of two killers) or who the killer is

Also many ideas they haven't tried yet...for one letting a Ghost face live and go to Jail, so they can bring them back in a later movie

Having two Ghost faces trying to kill someone but they are not working together and either are competing to see who can kill the person

Having Ghostface leaving evidence on the usual suspect, making the good guys on accident kill an innocent person

Ghostface live streaming his murders

They have a million ways to play up Ghostface and this last one just felt lazy, boring and you can have something not make much sense if at least the motive is cool but....this one just didn't work for me and watching people talk deeper about the film I think thats a big part of why this film for me wasn't as good as the last 3 films

or like someone was saying. just don't reveal it. have them escape.
or kill the ghostface without revealing. just one movie where you don't ever know their face or their motive.
it would be so out of left field that it would be refreshing
( I know that the entire point of these movies is the reveal, but that's why a completely unknown ghostface would be interesting)
like that horror trucker movie Joy Ride where you never really know the killer.
