It wasn't the original idea, so until further notice, no.

Are you asking me? If so, I am way out of the picture at this time and have no idea.

I would assume kinda sorta maybe yes.

BTW, could one of you people in the know post a link to the ride system that I told you all about months ago? 6 Flags or Busch Gardens.?

So this is the ride system? The only reason why it makes no sense is it would suggest Universal lied in the press release in regards to what this ride is.

Yes I understand it'll be like Corkscrew Hill/Flying Europe.

I always liked Corkscrew Hill. It was pretty thrilling and its movement was very effective & even quite jarring at times. But it did border on the edge of heavy motion sickness. If that's the system, and we did talk about that possibility in the past,I hope it's synchronized better than Corkscrew Hill so there's limited motion sickness effects.

Thank you. The motion sickness should be played down now as this will be at a far higher frame rate and in 3D. That fixes a lot, much like the diff between BTTF and Simpsons. I was fine on Simpsons when the former made me all dizzy.

The original idea and engineering was that yet bigger. How did Universal lie?

Corkscrew hill was a much better ride in that theater. It would be kind of lame if Universal didn't used a better ride system than this.

I'm impressed solely on the fact that this has been C-ticket show space for the park's first 25 years. Now, we actually get a ride there.

After scrubbing through the "making of" video I've noticed two little details.
First there appears to be a pre-vis scene of what might be a subway tunnel at the bottom of the screen? Would of course make sense being in NY.

The other thing I noticed is that the one crew member is wearing an RVRD sweater which has an office in Vancouver. There's also a guy wearing a Vancouver Canucks shirt. So putting those two together I'd say the green screen footage was shot in Vancouver. Just an interesting tidbit if it's true!

The flying aspect had me thinking the seats etc would be suspended rather than lifted. Semantics just didn't add up.

UC and marketing go over the top quite often with what they promise. I am sure the visuals may convince most that they are flying regardless of the ride system.

I'm pretty sure this was posted before but DyMoRides has a flying theater that they are putting in a leading Orlando theme park in 2017. The link to their web site is DyMoRides . It is posted under their references. It doesn't look like a flying theater but they are labeling it as such. So that is probably why in Universal's announcement it said first of its kind.

Bingo.

I'm surprised nobody found the reference or leaked the information earlier.

When you say "it doesn't" what do you mean? What on that references page doesn't look like a classic flying theater?

The BGW ride actually fits a flying TV studio look more than a Soarin type theater. And you won't see legs & feet dangling from above you if this is the system they use. It's would actually be more immersive since it looks like what it's supposed to be, namely a TV studio.

As it is not suspended from above. When some one says flying I would imagine that your feet wouldn't touch the ground. I wouldn't say that Star Tours is a flying theater but you are in motion vehicle that is simulated to fly so I guess it is too. The only good thing I see is at least there should be more motion to the ride than just rocking back and forth like Soarin

I think the ride shown above fits flying theater while what you are describing is more of flying in a theater.
