All I can say is - easily one of the most bad*** movies I’ve ever seen. After being somewhat disappointed in Prey sticking to the similar formula in a new time period, Badlands completely shifts up what’s come before. LOVED IT!

I was a 7/10. I liked a lot about it, but the tone and several scenes were too silly for me and jumped the shark, which knocked down my rating.

I had a blast with this, but you have to be prepared going in that it doesn't have the hard-edged, macho energy of the early PREDATOR movies. This is definitely the Disney version of what a PREDATOR film could look like, but it's probably the best version of such a thing you could imagine. Director Dan Trachtenberg avoids most of the traps that could have tripped the movie up, and he embraces big sci-fi adventure iconography in a very entertaining way.

Yeah this film was a ton of fun. Probably the most raucous movie going experience I've had since Endgame. The audience was cheering, laughing and clapping throughout. A definite crowd pleaser. It unquestionably softens some of the edges of the franchise and has some blatant Mandalorian influences in it, but I think it was for the best. Eventually repeating the formula of having the Predator drop into different time periods and locales would probably start to get a little stale. This begins to broaden the mythology more and makes me excited to see what comes next, especially if Trachtenberg is involved.

I loved it

I liked Prey alot as well, and this movie started more serious but then become fun but I was routing for the main character by the end and excited to the how the tribe grows in the next film

Great Action, some shocking moments, funny and I liked the main characters a lot by the end. I for sure will be buying this movie to watch again

kinda fun but with some cringe moments.
excellent action scenes, great planet, good plot.
but some cheesy dialogue, some good humor, but some cringey jokes.
the pred is basically Drax from guardians and the Android is basically mantis lol.

there's a little addition to the movie midway that does not work at all for me. I kinda hated it.

I remember turning to my friend about 20 minutes in and saying "Oh... So, they did a Mandalorian but Predator? Makes sense." Which got funnier with the handling of Thia and introduction of Bud. Really enjoyed the fight choreography on this one. If the Mando movie is anything like this, it should actually be good. This was good.

I hope we get a new AVP where Alien: Romulus/Earth characters meet Predator: Badlands/Prey characters. As someone who read the comics as a kid and saw that Fede has talked to Dan who has talked to Noah, a man can dream!

Check out Killer of Killers(co-directed by Trachtenberg) if you haven't already. It's actually a pretty cool watch, doesn't overstay its welcome, switches things up methodically as it goes on and changes themes with the eras - does everything you mentioned AND a bag of chips.
