So this is pretty much Avatar but with robot beavers, honestly I'm totally down with this! This is the kind of goofy concepts I love to see, especially from Pixar!

Well, ummm, it's not a sequel.

We asked for original stories.

BOOM!

While I don't think this will be the next Up, the concept lends itself to a lot of comedic potential.

The trope of humans switching bodies with animals and other things has been done to death. I wonder if Pixar has any tricks up their sleeves to make the concept feel fresh.

Good to bring up but this is the first original project at Pixar directed by Daniel Chong--the creator and showrunner I believe who was responsible for We Bare Bears.

The story of the film is literally protecting the forest from a developer, a premise that would have been cliched in the Reagan era. Whose sensitivities are being served here exactly? You can't even conjure up a straw man for the kind of person who invents that kind of a straw man.

FWIW, heard somewhere that Pixar is really bullish on Hoppers, so hopefully they won't screw it over like Elio. IMO, this also has D+ spinoff series potential.

It didn't help in Elio's case that the animation looked like a Grubhub commercial. This does look better though.
