The only way it's delayed is if it's moved to 2018. The official word from Nintendo has never said it would launch day 1 with the Switch. Only that it was moved to 2017 and is no longer a Wii U exclusive. Day 1 was just widespread fan assumption like what happened with Twilight Princess. Luckily the new 3D Mario is rumored for launch.

Good point, since Nintendo keeps things under wrap rather well it is hard to tell when something gets delayed. I would imagine they want this as a launch title though. I wonder though if what is causing the delay is the Wii U version. My take is that they want both versions to come out either simultaneously or at least to have the Wii U version first, for the simple reason that if the Wii U version comes out later, I doubt it will sell that good, so it would be a lot of wasted effort. I think the reason for the original delay is because the scope of the original game is so big it would not run properly on the Wii U, so probably that is when the Switch began serious development, because they wanted a system that could handle the new Zelda game. So my theory is that early on in the 'game', the game was developed for a console stronger than the Wii U, and that they then tried to somehow get a Wii U version out of this. It actually would not surprise me if the Switch version is close to being done and most of the work now is going into getting the game to work on the Wii U. If memory serves me right, when they showed the Zelda demo at E3, someone noticed some frame rate issues. In any case, it will be very interesting to see comparisons of this game between the two systems.

I think there will probably be a good amount of launch games. Ubisoft should have a few titles as well at launch, and hopefully by Christmas next year, we'll get a lot of sweet new titles

Nvidia has also said that it will be easy to port games to the Switch. I am very confident in Nvidia, I have graphics card of theirs in my desktop (GTX 750 TI, overclocked edition with Maxwell architecture) and am very happy with it. Even their cheap cards tend to perform rather well.

Pokémon could be coming to Switch a lot sooner than anyone thought.

It'll be a game like Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, etc. and the first time something like it is released for a different system than the originals. I think it's a great move that'll help GameFreak get used to HD development and of course sell Switches. I would expect the Stars code name to change to Eclipse as that would make more sense.

It's an enhanced port of Mario Kart 8 with all DLC and more new tracks and characters plus a new battle mode. That's the rumor anyway.

Splatoon is a similar enhanced port.

Well the Alola game is really different than the other games so makes sense for it to work well with switch. Probably even work better for the switch than the 3DS

From what it seems, thanks to Laura Dale; the Mario 3D Platformer will be developed internally within Nintendo while the Rabbids/Mario crossover will be handled by Ubisoft, with Nintendo watching over the project.

No. PlayStation and XBox have done similar PR on the show before. Sometimes a PR visit is just a PR visit.

Plus Nintendo themselves have been on Fallon promoting stuff for years. They even went on to show off the disaster that was the Wii U. They just did a much better job with their Switch surprise.

I do think though it is important of the fact that Nintendo Switch in a sense, was publicly unveiled in front of a live audience.

Fallon is one of the most popular late night TV shows out there right now, and the fact that Nintendo showed the Switch itself publicly (excluding the trailer) with that in mind; it does raise excitement for what they'll be talking about on January 12th.

Noticed that as well. Can't wait to hear more about the technical specs of this. I wonder if the charging unit provides additional cooling so that when playing on the big screen it has more power.

you know, I turned on Conan last night, and they had that segment where he plays a new video game and basically yells at the TV the whole time. I couldn't believe how boring it was. Watching someone play video games on TV may be the least entertaining thing I've ever witnessed.
