Patti is back in Company and they released the full recording of the 2021 Broadway version of Ladies Who Lunch.

Reportedly the whole show has been recorded after Sondheim's death and will be released eventually.

I believe they announced somewhere that they're also doing a full-blown documentary on the production, to be released sometime in May.

I've got another trip to NYC booked for late April. So far, we've got The Music Man and A Strange Loop lined up. Beetlejuice and Sleep No More will occupy two of the other slots, which leaves one left... deciding between Funny Girl (we know Fanny is out the Fri-Sat-Sun we are there), Paradise Square, Cursed Child, or maybe even something else...

I'm still a little New York'd out after my last trip but Beetlejuice coming back is testing my resolve. Come on, GA-MBIT, you need this money for a SNW Cali trip....self control, self control..

^^Seconded. Honestly after digesting it a bit more too may prefer it.

Plus, while it is probably not going anywhere for a while, this would be a BEHEMOTH to tour, so I would catch it in residency while you can

Also they solidified the relationship of Albus and Scorpious in a very satisfying way.

I also think a lot of the cast is doing other things (Reeve and Eva are doing movies, IIRC).

After 2 years and a handful of days, my pandemic delayed showing of Blue Man Group Speechless finally happened in Hershey this weekend. Speechless is a totally new stage direction for Blue Man, it's unlike their prior theatrical and rock tour shows. In fact, it's easier to list the things that are the same between the theatrical show and Speechless
  • Opening paint drumming
  • Gumballs & Marshmallows
  • Drumbone
The rest of the nearly 2-hour show is new, from the opening to the closing moments. The show is one of the smaller production, only three Blue Men and two musicians. Whereas the theatrical show was manifesting the Blue Man in a "neutral" location, while the rock tour it was Blue Man in our world, this show takes us into the Blue Man's workshop and play space. New segments are well done and really showcase the new instruments. Some spark awe, like a rotating collection of different lengths of PVC that are played like a playing card in a bike spoke, while others are a little bit of a letdown, like a multi-tiered string instrument.

One of the big additions is mobile sampling and synths, this allows the Blue Man to walk into the audience and live mix guest reactions and sounds. A larger sampling machine is on stage and is used throughout the show. The techno and stripped-down music really feels like BMG's version of DIY electronic music and sample culture.

I've noticed the show has already evolved and changed some, the black smocks the Blue Men wore before have given out for the more traditional jump sits. One segment seems to have been cut or highly modified, and two audience interaction bits have changed due to COIVD. This leads me to believe the show will continue to evolve and change up the segments.

If you enjoyed Blue Man and Speechless is coming to town, check it out as it's a new show.

Cousin saw Funny Girl the other day. She is a big Beanie fan, but did admit her singing was solid at best. Her acting is apparently top notch and she’s clearly giving everything she’s got so it all makes up for it. Jane Lynch and Ramin (or “the lead guy” according to my cousin) were both great!

I've got front row tickets to that end of April (right before she goes on her break). Very excited.

Enjoy! It sounded like she had fun, she had never seen the show before either just knew some of the music, so not sure if that helps.

both great lineups, Boston includes Tina, Hairspray which I’ve never seen live, SIX, My Fair Lady, Beetlejuice, and Jagged Little Pill. Providence is similar but has Hadestown. Nice job northeast cities for some good shows coming.

PNW lineup is bad. Hairspray, To Kill a Mockingbird, Come From Away, Moulin Rouge, Jagged Little Pill…etc. Really wanted Hadestown, Six, or Beetlejuice.
