I'm curious why you don't think Ghostbusters fits at USF? Unless you meant Epic?

As far as SpongeBob - at this point, yes, it's an evergreen property and I absolutely think it could warrant its own land.

This is a GREAT prompt! This is totally blue sky and not grounded in reality because I would be blending so many IPs that normally wouldn't exist in a space together, together, but here it goes:

Universal TimeQuest: A Universal Journey through Past, Present, and Future.

When you first enter the building, you enter what looks like a sleek science facility/lab that reads "Universal TimeQuest Labs." Universal employees in white lab coats (stay with me) act like your guides and would queue visitors into individual lab rooms briefing you that you are not just visitors but research participants for a study. Once you enter your designated lab room...a video begins. Doc Brown has partnered with Universal Creative to give you a tour of how Universal's tech has shaped entertainment across time: past, present, and future. You will then board your DeLorean for an upgraded Back to the Future: The Ride experience. Once the video/ride ends, you enter your first stage of the journey - the past - and exit onto the first floor themed to BTTF's Twin Valley Pines Mall Arcade (the past.)

On this floor, you have a full 80's themed arcade in the Twin Valley Pines Mall - neon lights, synth music, BTTF vibes. Here you have a mix of both real 80's arcade classics and all-new retro/8-bit style games and experiences inspired by Universal (think: E.T, Jaws: 1985 - an 8-bit shooter style game) and Universal partner IPs (i.e possibly something like...Stranger Things.) We would also have a hoverboard experience attraction specifically for BTTF. An 80's food court with offerings like pizza, sodas, ice cream would be the primary food offering here, and possibly a Blast from the Past 1950's diner to really pay homage to BTTF.

The second floor would be themed to IPs that feel more "present" and action/modern tech - current-day Universal action properties - with a sleek industrial design with LED lighting and pumping bass heavy music. The main feature here would be a Fast and Furious: Straight Out the Shop challenge- a simulator racing attraction, similar to the design your coaster ride that used to be at DisneyQuest, where guests would design their own car (body kit/neon/details) and then "race" against others in opposing cars in virtual reality environments of their choosing (Tokyo drift, downtown LA, etc.) Other IPs here could be Jurassic World VR simulator ride where you ride your own gyrosphere with screens detailing the action "around" you, with gameplay similar to Pokemon Go where you have to capture dinosaurs. A Minions Mayhem Lab could also live here as well and be a great spot for games geared to younger kids including an attraction where they could design their own minion. Other IPs to be utilized could also be Bourne. A "garage pit stop" restaurant themed to F&F could be the dining theme here, serving burgers, fries, etc or another idea would be an International Racing Tour global food market with options like Tokyo inspired noodles and LA street food i.e tacos, burritos.

The top floor would be the future, with the primary theme being focused on Terminator/Cyberdyne Systems. We'd bring back the neon from the first floor here, with added chrome, cyberpunk future aesthetics, synth-wave music. The main attraction here would be a Cyberdyne VR arena - a laser tag arena where you would fight against T-800s. Other futuristic IPs could be i.e Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, etc. Food options would be a Skynet Cafeteria.

Anyway, that's what I've got!

With Pokemon now heavily rumored/suggested for the Lost Continent… my blue sky ideas have been shifting around. So, decided to update both my USF and IOA blue sky projects.

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS FLORIDA

1758215920394.png

NEEDS: Non-Screen Based Attractions (at the moment there are 7 major screen-based experiences, my plan reduces it to 4) and an overall aesthetic improvement.

HOLLYWOOD

  • Now officially the park entrance with an expansion of art deco facades through the park's entrance area. Entrance is redone to become more grand and exciting to enter, versus a somewhat monotone studio entrance. The Today Cafe structure is removed so it can open up the space and highlight the Epic Movie Ride façade (which replaces the Villain-Con area, but the entrance is where Wicked Experience is at the moment.
  • Brown Derby takes the place of Today Cafe
  • Hollywood Tribute Store is now a permanent Holiday Store with Halloween, Christmas and other holiday merchandise.
  • Spielberg Lounge - an ultra themed lounge (akin to Beak & Barrel/Trader Sams) with different rooms themed to Jaws, ET, Jurassic, etc.
  • E.T.'s entrance relocated to NBC Media Center.

MINION LAND

  • Illumination Theater at BMG (entrance between Minion Mayhem and new Dark Ride, former Rockit area)
  • New Minion Dark Ride at Music Plaza Stage
  • Improved facades on the Minion Mayhem building.

NEW YORK

  • Ghostbusters attraction replaces Fallon. While I'd prefer a physical based dark ride, I think the Fallon simulator system is the best of all the "basic" simulator attractions, so I don't think I would mind keeping it around. I think the IP will make the ride an instant hit.
  • Transformers M&G is relocated to the Transformers extended queue. I'm not a fan of that pathway between Mel's and Villain-Con, so I'd close it off and add some trees to improve the aesthetic of the area a bit.
  • F&F: New York Drift
  • Only aesthetic overhaul I'd do is add a berm of trees or false facades by Louie's to obscure some of the back of house/Hogwarts Express views.

HILL VALLEY (SAN FRANCISCO)

  • San Francisco is replaced by Hill Valley - split between 1955 and 2015.
  • BTTF Dark Ride - retheme of existing Supercharged. I won't go into details as I already provided a blue sky idea a while ago for this space on this forum. But essentially, it'll start in 1955 before leaving you in 2015. The first theme park attraction to leave you at a different era of time.

THE WIZARDING WORLD HARRY POTTER - DIAGON ALLEY

  • No changes

THE LAND OF WICKED (WORLD EXPO)

  • I love MIB, but Emerald City at the end of USF could create a true wow moment in the park.
  • The area is split into 3 areas - Munchkinland, Emerald City, and the interior portion of Emerald City home to Wizomania stage show (like Diagon's shows) and a restaurant.
  • Wicked Journey - an inverted EMV dark ride (think Spider-Man but simulates flight ala Kongfrontation/Peter Pan) themed to a hot air balloon.
  • The other major E-ticket is a stage show taking place at the FFL theater (reuse or new structure, but indoors). Could be similar to Cirque Arcanus where the show is interrupted midway and becomes more action-based?

AMITY PIER (SPRINGFIELD)

  • JAWS returns to USF, albeit across the water. A new dark ride (based off Mack's Rocking Boat concept) is utilized in an indoor setting.
  • Springfield's infrastructure remains nearly the same with slight rethemes for the dining/shopping aspects of the land. Fast Food Blvd is converted to the Amity Cafe, while Moe's is converted to Quint's Shack. Duff becomes a seaside pier-themed bar.

DREAMWORKS LAND

  • Shrek Dark Ride - replaces Animal Actors with an Omnimover dark ride. Lots of animatronics akin to Secret Life of Pets. Facade is Far Far Away, similar to Singapore.
  • Trolls (or other DreamWorks IP) Dark Ride - situated at the back of the land. Something close to Cat in the Hat from IOA. Wacky, fun, a bit of spinning.
  • Trolls Spinner (Twirl 'n' Hurl) - a rethemed Kang & Kodos at the center of the land providing more kinetic energy.
  • Spongebob Storepants is retrofitted as part of the Shrek Area while the cafe is rethemed as Friar's Fries (serving pizza fries year round).

HHN IMPACTS & CHANGES

  • Because of JAWS, the two older sprung tents are removed with two additional new tents next to the newer ones.
  • BTTF is likely to be popular and operable during HHN, so a house here is likely to be removed. There's space behind Trollercoaster to add an additional tent there. You can route this house queue from Cafe La Bamba or use ET's queue.
  • Nightmare Fuel relocated to Bourne or Blue Man Group.

I'll share my IOA version later.

I cannot sanction the removal of MIB... but I appreciate you trying to compensate for that with all the additional dark rides elsewhere.

MIB is a fantastic ride, but I really think part of the major fan appeal of MIB is also that it's one of a few USF attractions that are completely physical and re-rideable. But I also think (if a replacement is great) it shouldn't prevent park expansion/improvement.
