I finally got to ride it during the event on Saturday evening. The queue looked very nice - very modern, very sciencey. I did notice that the, uh... thing in the center of the room (sorry, don't know what it's supposed to be) had a ramp on the second floor of the queue leading over to it. I started daydreaming that there could be, like, live actors interacting with the thing. But then I figured it was just so it could be accessed and repaired if anything broke.

I've said this in another thread, but I became a fan of the Hulk through the coaster and the old queue video. So the utter lack of anything really Hulk-ish was a bummer. The cartoon may have taken a lot of animation shortcuts, but I think it gave a good summary of the characters (Hulk,Betty, Bruce, Thunderbolt), the backstory, and what was happening presently. It showed the Hulk saving a kid, for example.

What's in the queue now is the visual equivalent of technobabble. Shiny, slick looking, seemingly important stuff happening on a few screens with instruments and readings, but it's all meaningless. I was curious as to why regular people were being tested with gamma rays, like that kid who wouldn't stop taking selfies. They never tell us why.

Okay, so, gamma tube. Very bright in there. I didn't mind the new effects, but I did miss Banner screaming. I used to get chills at that, it was so perfect, the NOOOOOOO into the launch. And I know now there is a Hulk roar that emits from the tube after the launch, but I couldn't hear it on the ride. I was also unable to hear the onboard audio, so it didn't add a thing for me. Ride felt a bit smoother, my brain didn't feel like it was rattling around in my skull.

So, yeah, visually the new queue is great! I love the new Hulk sign/statue, although I miss the old Kubert mural. Did they sell that thing in the prop shop, by any chance? Storywise, the thing is lacking, but I know that's less important to some than it is for me. So, overall, happy to have the attraction back, just feeling like a wee bit is lacking.

And, one last point, I was happy to see the old project gamma logo still in those metal plates on the floor of the queue. In my erstwhile youth I loved the Hulk so much I wanted a tattoo to symbolize him, but I think tattoos of actual characters are tacky. So I got a small tattoo of that logo. It's on my back and usually covered up, but it made me happy to see they hadn't removed the logo entirely.

TL;DR welcome back Hulk!

Like a few others finally got to do this on the AP Night. Very happy to have my first ride back with the big guy at night, the view and everything is so much better.

I liked the new fanciness of the tesla tubes in the middle, thought they were a big upgrade from what used to be in there. To me the queue did not establish the story good enough, there were little tidbits scattered around but it was tough to put a full story around all of it. Biggest question I have is that if this lab is being used by Ross and everything is on the up and up where they have tons of test subjects lined up with no issue, why is Ross backdooring into the system to reset the "XX Days without an Accident Sign"? Surely if he is in charge he could just take the sign down, but I digress. The bass and music was great inside the queue and helped get you pumped up.

Second floor. I liked that they replaced the leaky tube areas but the helix in a bottle felt a little underwhelming. The Hulkification level-o-meter seemed like it may have had some interesting info in there but I didn't see it long enough. The people getting Hulked just seemed kind of odd, but didn't get to see that screen long enough.

Ride. Thought the launch tube looked really cool but could barely hear any of the audio in tube or after ride because of people shouting (including me). Ride felt super smooth compared to where it was before and only banged my head 2 or 3 times probably partially due to myself. Thought the coaster carried its speed much better than it used to. RV's were awesome and pretty comfy. Biggest gripe with the ride itself was the lacking of Banner in the tube.

TL;DR Very happy to have Hulk back, queue could have been better but whatevs. We haz Hulk back!

I noticed last week the plasma ball was not working. Is it up and running now?

On the screens in the queue, General Ross keeps overriding functions on it, so it gives some context.

It does, but it is a pretty small detail easily overlooked.

I didn't realize they still use seated jibs like that. I believe that name on the back of the seat is Chapman which is an old Hollywood company.

That's Chapman-Leonard. They still have studio space and crane/jib/dolly rentals in Orlando.

Road during the AP event. Didn't really catch much of the queue as it was a walk on. The coaster was fun. Didn't catch the audio until half way thru. Banged my head 3 times, but the biggest thing for me is it was not that smooth. It shakes a good bit. Maybe it is just because the last couple coasters I have been on have been so smooth (mako) I noticed it more on this one. Don't remember the shaking in the old version, but I will admit it has been a long time since I rode. Overall it was fine, nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either.

I agree. One reason I love wooden coasters more than the others.
