Please stay safe, everyone! Remember that everything can be rebuilt, made better and stronger. Sandy was devastating for us; The Jersey Shore was utterly unprepared for a storm like that. But the community rallied and I'll never forget that feeling. Even Irma's worst can't defeat a community determined to stay.

But remember safety is priority. In a hurricane, there's no such thing as being too cautious.

Here in sarasota all hunkered down at the grandparents house. Winds are starting to pick up and power will likely go out tonight so wishing everyone the best during the next couple days.. Dan i'm with you, celebrating our safety post-hurricane at HHN sounds like a great plan. :)

My clan and I are thoroughly ensconced at Universal's Royal Pacific Resort! Had a rather surprisingly good dinner at Jake's American Bar. I had been there in the past and not really been impressed, but I tried the fish and chips last night and it was actually some of the best I've ever had. Especially since I requested the parmesan truffle fries!

People are just kind of lounging about wherever. Both Royal Pacific and Sapphire Falls have additional dining and entertainment spaces set up throughout their convention centers. At Royal Pacific you actually access them from back of house corridors! Dogs are freaking EVERYWHERE. Everyone seems to be in relatively good spirits.

Also, this must be a nightmare for Busch Gardens, must be a nightmare trying to secure things there.
Don't know if this works here #stilllearning

Me and my folks are safely at our ride out spot in Wesley Chapel (really close to the Hillsborough/Pasco border). We still have power and I have a tablet, personal phone, and work phone to keep updated once power goes.

Conditions here aren't too bad yet. Just rain and occasional gusty winds with a few tornado warnings here and there. I'm trying to chill as much as I can today because I know we'll be in for a rough night.

Altamonte checking in here. Just rain so far. Big stuff coming in a few hours.

Really hoping we don't loose power again like last year during Mathew. Took 15 hours to get it back on because they had to wait until winds died down before they could fix it. Fingers crossed this year'll be different.

Stay safe y'all!

Update from Tampa. Rain is starting to pick up, but nothing major yet. Same goes for the wind. Thankfully our apartment is far enough away from the water that we can bunker down here.
