Yay! Glad they're moving forward with the sequel for the live-action. Honestly, from a business standpoint for Epic Universe, this puts the franchise back in the spotlight since the land is more or less a live-action of the animated since the vikings are face characters for meet-n-greets

Bring on Dragons 3 & 4!

I don't know, the reactions I've seen -- while predictably hyperbolic -- do not sell me that there's anything new to see here. It's just the first movie... again.

If it works… I'd rather have that than have a movie miss the mark like some of Disney's live remakes have.

What I am looking forward to is that it sound sounds more complete in a world-building sense. The inevitable sequels will probably feel tighter knit because they can start laying things out better staring in the first movie; the world would feel more full. I think the creator also wanted to add some minor things they couldn't in the first animated movie?

(That tighter story thing is also why I'm casually interested in the HP reboot.)

Saw it last night

It is very much a remake of the first film but for me this is the best way to do it

The fight scenes are well done, the flying takes advantage as much as it can of being in real life settings, the acting is well done and while some of the side characters i prefer the voices of the OG cast there is nothing wrong with these versions a few they kinda try to flesh out a little and hopefully in the sequels most can get more character development and moments

The film has an amazing score and great story and lesson. The lesson I wish more adults would want to pursue is questions the order of a society and wanting to break the cycle and try something different over going back to the same old same old and finding some enemy to always be fighting along with letting go of old grudges and allowing your children's futures be brighter.

Anyway really enjoyed the film and looking forward to the sequels and hope other fans agree with me in saying the first film is near perfect it makes sense not to touch it....but the villains of the two next films pleaseeee give them more depth or at least very interesting actors, I was a little disappointed the second villain was not at least set up in this film with a sentence from someone during a meeting but whatever I just hope they make the villains better in the next two films the story's are as a whole are fine, its mainly for me the villains not rising up to the stories and this film kinda gets away with the Dragon end game being straightforward because in a way the Village/Dad is the villain at times but in the sequels I just hope we get more fleshed out themes for the Villains and side characters and think we are in for a good time
