The only "humorous" sequence
was the one sister getting yeeted into the garbage can.

That sequence got a good laugh out of me, but nothing beat the
Kid getting smashed by the piano.

Also someone tell me if I'm crazy. But my wife and I were FULLY convinced that
Paco the Turtle was going to somehow be involved in a death

So…Bring Her Back. Yeah, it’s 8 hours after my screening and I still feel sick . The equivalent of having a knife thrust into your belly and continually twisted back and forth for 90 minutes. The ending of this flick might just leave you feeling cold as a corpse.

It isn’t exactly scary, but it is easily the most disturbing, unsettling, depressing, and uncomfortable horror film in the modern day (thus far). It’s effective and affecting. While it explores familiar horror themes concerning trauma, grief, and cyclical patterns it does so in new and grotesque ways. There are also quite a few threads left hanging and questions that go unanswered by the end, and characters don’t get equal amounts of development.

Bring Her Back isn’t quite as great as Talk To Me for multiple reasons, but it is still an exceptional horror film that succeeds at what it sets out to do: distress and sicken audiences. Bring Her Back dares you to forget about it after you leave the theater. It’s guaranteed you won’t. This one leaves wounds that linger.

Yeah, I agree with most of this. Whole theater was audibly upset at several key moments, and I was right there with them. Lots of groans and bad words and screams. I think I actually prefer it to Talk to Me, which I did not love nearly as much as everyone else, but I also never really want to see Bring Her Back again. Paradoxically, I mean that as a compliment.

If you can, try to avoid looking up what's coming/what subgenre of horror it even is. There's a point where the film basically shows its hand and you can start to anticipate some of where it's going, but that discovery is repulsive and shocking in the best way.

Some really remarkable child performances.

I’m conflicted… I did not like Talk to Me much at all, but this sounds intriguing. If I can avoid spoilers I might need to check it out.

Bring Her Back is a brutal gutpunch of a film. Absolute masterful work that is true horror to the core of itself, it's the most I've squirmed in theaters possibly ever. It's ever refreshing to bare witness to a terror film that is truly frightening in such an unflinching manner. This is horror in such real terms while still being fictional.

One of the best of the year. Easily without question. Talk to Me walked so Bring Her Back could jog straight into your worst nightmares.
