Based on those permits and new buildings I’m more interested in that small building between the old BMG and lagoon. The two big buildings (if indeed a coaster which we all pretty much think it is) would realistically be a queue/station and the other a train barn / maintenance building. That small one however is interesting given the Wolfman coasters small scene building in the middle of the circuit. Exciting stuff!!
The small building is about 1000 sq ft vs Wolfman 1800 sq ft.

But what we assume would be the maintenance building is huge. About 15000 sq ft v Hagrid's original of 10000 sq ft and Stardust is 6000 sq ft.

That building could be a double use area and as one side faces directly down the length of the area, it could be a good place to have a small dark ride area before a big launch. It could use a similar idea as Stardust for getting the trains in and out of the barn.

Gotta consider queue areas too.

Bright blue coaster track spotted at Intamin, apparently for an unannounced coaster. If this is for the HRRR rockit, bright blue is just too perfect for a Ghostbusters coaster.

Wouldn't Ghostbusters be green?

Would they be building track before they take down the existing coaster? That seems early, but maybe I'm just unfamiliar with the usual procedure.

A Ghostbusters outdoor coaster would be the biggest waste of that IP imaginable.

Not much they can do, they have to share all their ideas with the Luigi's Mansion ride.

The building closest to the guest area is about the same sq ft as VelociCoaster. Lockers downstairs and load/unload upstairs seems to be the new standard for Universal and it's working well.

If it is for Universal, I wonder if the blue track is just for the taller areas to make it blend into the sky a bit better. Alton Towers do a similar thing to help blend in the track.

The blue track is not for this, it's way too early. It would be sitting there for at least nine months, if not more.

Ghostbusters was always destined to be a shooting type ride but a shooting type ride with the main character called Luigi, in this climate?

I imagine all modern Universal coaster designs will use something like VelociCoaster's station/queue set up, so I think it's likely right that'll be for that. I wonder if Universal is looking to build over the parking lot to save spaces/HHN queue or if they're going raz it all.

Allegedly a last-minute marketing change when they realized the coaster's on-ride characters weren't gonna be a good sell.

Not gonna' lie, that would be amazing irony. I'm also in the boat that really didn't remember/know about Sid until ETP's video on the ride.

Anyways, the writing has been on the wall for a while. Even though I'm thankful this thing didn't try giving me a headache like others, it really wasn't much to write home about. While it did provide nice kinetic energy especially at night with the lights, we can absolutely have a better coaster here and that's what I'm hoping for.

As far as the theme goes, I’d rather see it be themed to Fast and Furious than Ghostbusters. While the latter is popular, I don’t see Universal making one of their new signature attractions an IP that they don’t own.

That might not seem too far fetched given that their most successful land is HP, and the main draw to EU in terms of intellectual properties are franchises they don’t own. But I’m thinking, if they’re trying to have a ride that’s going to go near the front entrance and be a first impression of sorts, F&F makes more sense than Ghostbusters.

A largely bare outdoor coaster doesn’t need an IP. Rockit and EUs Racers don’t have one. If management demands one, slap on FnF.

Racers doesn’t need an IP because it’s surrounded by four IP-based lands that do the heavy lifting for it. The general public visiting EU isn’t coming for Racers.

This, however, needs an IP to draw people in—that’s simply the reality of today’s industry. We’re mostly beyond the times of just slapping an IP onto a project for the sake of it.

Putting an IP on a largely bare coaster is the definition of “slapping an IP onto a project for the sake of it.” Also, the giant outdoor coaster at the parks entrance IS the draw - it doesn’t need an IP on the sign. If big outdoor coasters can’t draw a crowd without an IP attached, Uni should stop building them and focus on rides that fully leverage valuable IPs.
