Though on the flip side, bumping up the closure could speak to an antsy readiness from UDX to fix up USF, and that vibe is a very welcome one.

Maybe the RRR replacement is the fastest thing they can build to help with the park's (many) issues that will also give them a bit of breathing room capacity-wise to do additional demo in other areas of the park?

Coasters aren't necessarily a fast build, especially not with theming and such, but this coaster looks like it might follow a somewhat similar layout (for everything but the station), which makes new ride replacement much easier/faster to do. Adding a building (or two) wouldn't add substantially more to that demo/build time, all things considered. Coasters like this are much quicker to build than fully themed experiences like a dark ride or even Hagrid's.

Also, coasters are a spectacle. A big, new coaster would draw people's attention away from other areas and would get more bodies in that section of the park. Which, again, might help if/when USF closes another ride/experience elsewhere in the immediate future.

We can hope that's the plan with this closure! More movement at USF is always appreciated, and a skyline-changing coaster (let's hope) is big, visual movement. Even if the IP isn't spectacular, if the coaster is great, it will bring the people.

Still wild to me that they can't wait 3 more months to save this until the end of HHN season, but alas. We'll see how that ops situation is handled pretty soon, I guess.

It may be a move to minimize the "pain" from the changeover. HHN might be difficult this year but if they can get the coaster open by next year's it could be deemed worthwhile, though I admit it's a tight schedule to pull that off. Perhaps for the holidays it could be going through soft opening at minimum.

Who knows though, work is already commencing and maybe we'll see footers go in before August comes around and once HRRR is closed they can go all-in and speed through construction.

This is the same park that tore down SS44 in 2012, then erected & opened Transformers the following year in 2013

This replacement will be much easier.

Oh absolutely! It's also on the edge of the park out of the way of the usual guest paths so disrupting park operations during the day would be minimal if at all.

I’d be surprised if this was another Transformers style build.

While simpler structurally, they have to demo Rockit carefully since it’s at times very close to operating areas and taller than SS44. They also have to build 2 additional structures.

I’d love to see this go up in a year, but realistically we’re looking at a 1.5 year build at a minimum.

If they go faster, I’d be very impressed.

So is there any chance left that the IP isn't F&F or are my dreams of a Ghostcoaster completely gone?

This is a really great concept. Do we think universal wants to touch any orlando area records with this coaster?
