Hope they're still planning on doing the podcast stories this year because this would be a fun one.

Of all the SS2 scenes last year, I wanted Mardi Gras, Heavy Metal or this, so I'm happy! Also, FINALLY A NEW WILD WEST HOUSE! Curious to see if they'll be any Lightning Gulch references in here (or maybe it will be in LG and act as a sorta prequel, this is why the town eventually becomes haunted?).

I didn't experience SS2 last year- are Hatchet and Chains the "heroes" in this story?

Yes. Also here's a more detailed description of the house

"In this Old West town, all hell is breaking loose. Masses of red-hot lava demons are crawling out of Hell’s Well and trying to possess everyone, melting everything in their path. As you flee from the post office to the bank, the prison to the graveyard, your only hope is Hatchet and Chains with their arsenal of mystical weapons."

Very excited to see this happen. Hatchet & Chains was my favorite SS2 sequence last year. It's awesome to see a wild west theme return.

Hatchet & Chains was not my favorite room in Slaughter Sinema 2, but I think this makes a lot of sense as a house. Some of the great ones from Slaughter Sinema 2 (like Blood and Chum or Mummy Strippers Unwrapped) may work better as a single room/gag than a whole house, and the one I would personally have liked to see as a whole house the most - Mardi Gras Murders - does not make sense to do the same year you have Terrifier. Having an entire wild west house with loads of demons (hopefully with different varieties / appearances) seems really cool.

In as much as you can learn from a single scene, yes. More like Old West anti-heroes, but I think we're supposed to root for them.

Not the SS2 film o would’ve picked, but I get why they did with the appeal of doing a western house. The story sounds cool and I could see it becoming a favorite.

So of all the SS2 rooms last year, this is not one of top ones I would have wanted - but I think this can translate to something really cool. The wild west setting will be great, and I'm sure we'll get some really cool effects in here.

I did not like this room in SS 2, but I see the potential.

Here's a png of the logo

Edit: also glad to see I'm not alone in not liking the segment from SS2 but this house should be way better so I'm excited

Just like others, while this wasn't my favorite scene in Slaughter Sinema 2, nor the first choice on a scene to be turned into a full-blown house...Hatchet and Chains do have a lot of potential here! Heck, this is a theme that'll probably benefit from a full house than just a scene!

As discussed way back when this was first rumored, we really don't get western houses at the event save for Ghost Town, so the theme alone stands out and diversifies the lineup. While I would've loved a Mardi Gras Murders house, I do accept that it probably wouldn't have been a good choice in a year which has two very notable IP slashers.

Anticipation wise, I can see this one being more in the middle, perhaps a little lower on my list. But that's only due to other themes I really like taking preference. I'm still very much looking forward to this one, I can see it being a nice action-adventure kind of house.

Yeah, they're definitely the hero/anti-heroes of the story. Hatchet is a Demon (as the poster definitely shows with his face), and Chains is mortal. Both are working together going after other demons.

Yanno', considering the reception the scene got last year, this house could be a pleasant surprise and a sleeper in terms of the originals. (Overall however...well the WWE house is probably the biggest no-brainer for a sleeper hit/dark horse this year.)

Hot take maybe, when I initially did Slaughter Sinema 2 none of the rooms really felt like they were begging to become full houses, at least not like Yeti did the first time around.

That said, I agree that Hatchet and Chains definitely has potential. It’s been a while since HHN took us out West, and the rumored sprung tent location could offer something different compared to the grand, elaborate sets of something like Ghost Town.

Hopefully we'll see some cool effects from the “lava demons.”

I think Hatchet & Chains was the least memorable scene in Slaughter Sinema 2.

I mean, if the meanings are that convoluted and only able to be deduced after they're explained in hindsight by someone intimately involved in the creation process, they may as well be considered meaningless to someone without that access or insight.
