Just talked to a friend who did the TM preview-- MoM ride is still not open but the queue is supposed to be AMAZING. And they are letting them walk through the queue for the preview and apparently it is a long queue and takes a while to get through. Sounds like it really sets up the story well for the ride itself.

Correct. The queue is more impressive than any queue I’ve ever seen.

Can agree, by far the best queue at the resort. It is LONG, but highly themed rooms throughout

Important question: how's the AC tho? And what about the single rider line? Did they let you go through that

Actually… my question about the queue.

Was the roof in the promo photo they shared back in November digitally manipulated?

It is, but the illusion is still very good in person. It’s the Knockturn Alley sky effect, but they make it look like the offices continue up past the clouds through some clever mirror work from what I could tell.

I'm dying to hear reviews for this one.... I really hope they finally open it for the family preview. The suspense is unbearable.

I keep repeating myself but idk what else to say. Another thing that also absolutely impressed me was the queue for this ride dude. It's insane. I've never seen anything like it in my life. The scale of it all is crazy... legit blew me away. It's the best ride queue they've ever done imo. I can only imagine how the actual ride will be if the queue is this impressive...

Hopefully they get the ride open soon. There has been speculation Battle of the Ministry might not make it for opening day. But if the queue is that impressive, it sounds like Battle is shaping up to be a legit ROTR killer.

Honestly I wasn't so sure about it before but after seeing that queue... I definitely think that's the case. Especially with the rumors that this ride is basically like an HP version of the JWA ride from Beijing. It's going to be special

Finally got to ride this attraction today. Wow. I was worried the experience was over hyped but it was not. It is truly an incredible show of stage craft and technology. The scale is enormous and it has some of the best animatronics I've ever seen. Leaked POV's can never capture what this ride can do. It's an experience you can only get on the ride. I'm still processing what I saw.

If I could compare the experience to anything it would Spider-Man ride segment after the levetation ray but for the entire ride at a much bigger scale mixed with Tower of Terror.

heck, I rode a while ago by now and I am still trying to process it all. There are a couple of animatronics that I thought could be actors (but I am sure they were not). I truly had no clue what Creative was able to pull off as this seems light years ahead of anything they've done in the past. It was just too neat looking at things and trying to understand what was film verses what was a set piece.

Yeah, the fluidity of those AA’s was incredible. My wife and I both said they looked like actors with how smooth the movement was.

How do they compare to the ones at Monsters? Specifically Victoria if we're comparing human AAs.

They are just as fluid as monsters. I believe a few of the Human animatronics are using the same front projected face technology that they used on Victoria in the preshow. The Death Eater animatronics had the most realistic, fluid and quick movements I've ever seen. I think they benefit from not having their faces showing.

Yeah they 100% benefit from being masked.

Absolutely amazing attraction, but I don't necessarily think it's a clear winner for the best dark ride, Monsters might be better.

General Thought - it's a great top 5 dark ride that has well crafted scenes with a minor thrill component. I will say, this is more Spider-Man/Transformers than I was expecting. The first 2-3 scenes of the attraction were a tad repetitive, but a good use of practical and screen tech.

Best scene in any dark ride is that massive death eater scene when it follows you along the path. It's absolutely spectacular.

The animatronics are odd, but passable.

Operations
  • This ride, understandably, has a long way to go on operations. It's taking way too long to load guests with no clear indication of where to sit. It's a bit of a free for all that can lead to some challenges. This will obviously be corrected between now and open.
  • Yesterday they removed the stanchions separating the queue entrance from the ride's exit, so it looks like they're adjusting procedures here

I will say, this attraction & Unchained make Forbidden Journey feel very outdated now... hoping they can give it a facelift a few years down the road.
