As a fan of the franchise, I can't imagine the character working in a PG-13 environment. Now if they put it in the Horror Make Up Show building with "this is R-rated" warnings and really enforced no cell phones/cameras, I could see that. It would be like an intimate comedy club setting. Maybe even use those Yondr pouches that some clubs have.

I'll be blunt (zing): If Ted can't liberally reference weed or drop F-bombs, it's not worth doing. It'll completely neuter the character, and you don't have the murder/over-the-top violence threats that Chucky could fall back on.

Because, historically, Universal has not allowed the use of the F-bomb in any of their shows, including Bill and Ted. Someone can correct me if they eased up in the show’s final years, but I recall weed references were contained to wink-wink euphemisms more than the outright comedic discussions of specific strains that typically come out of Ted’s mouth.

Because, historically, Universal has not allowed the use of the F-bomb in any of their shows, including Bill and Ted. Someone can correct me if they eased up in the show’s final years, but I recall weed references were contained to wink-wink euphemisms more than the outright comedic discussions of specific strains that typically come out of Ted’s mouth.

And that kind of thing has always annoyed me with theme park haunts… intense gore in the scarezones and haunted houses are perfectly fine but swearing or references to substances in shows is a no no. It’s just ridiculous censorship. If people can handle gore then there’s no reason they shouldn’t be able to handle profanity. I really enjoyed the Revenge of Chucky zone from 28 but it felt weird not hearing Chucky swearing especially since he’s a character with a colourful vocabulary

The context is the various Deadpool shows they've done recently. Though that does bring up what I was gonna' say, if you can't have a particularly adult character curse or whatnot, it really comes down to the writing to make it work.

Thing is, haunt shows which delve into crude humor can be notoriously hit or miss.* Be it the Hanging at Knotts, Bill & Ted over here, Fiends at HoS etc. When they work, they work! But when they don't, ooof.

* = Personally for me, I feel a show which honestly excelled at this was Puppet Up!: Uncensored at Knotts. But that comes with a couple kickers. 1. They were allowed to curse, easily making it the most adult show I've seen at any theme park/haunt. And 2. It was an improv show, which I feel can be a stronger comedy show even when things go wayward.

For any of these types of shows, if they can’t curse they need EVERYTHING ELSE to drive the humor. Even though Deadpool is vulgar, the vulgarity is not the source of the comedy; that’s actually his meta observations (which Disney is ripe with). The best Bill and Ted’s had fun, clever stories that maximized all the characters and references to the extent you didn’t really notice the lack of cursing. Even Chucky has murder to drive his character.

The risk with a character like Ted is that the vulgarity is the point. The humor is a cursing teddy bear. This show needs something strong to drive itself if they self-censor, otherwise it will fall flat.

I'm so down if we get a Ted Show! The speculated lineup so far seems honestly insane. So I'll take anything that can gravitate the crowds to go... literally anywhere else. However, I will say the show definitely needs some warning, as @TheCodeMan95 mentioned.

On a side note- If we get an ID badge holder that has S.T.A.R.S on it... Holy... XD

How far has a show at HHN pushed the limits on language? Shows like The Hanging tend to go with a comical bleep in place of a "real' f-word (or whatever) if they want to skirt the edge a bit.

They used to have the Rocky Horror Picture Show and that was too much for some people.

I never recall an f-bomb at HHN (even bleeped them in the Chucky queue video). Hard-pressed to think of drug references, too, which is a very necessary part of Ted's schtick. Maybe a wink and a nod in B&T, but I can't recall anyone even having prop paraphernalia on stage.

The closest thing I can personally remember is the smoking Gandalf (during one of the Bill and Teds coinciding with The Hobbit films)? He may have been holding something resembling a bong, and he definitely emerged from the show facade coughing with heavy fog effects.

There *was* actually an f-bomb in Hollywood's version of Blumhouse vol 2, during the Unfriended section - one of the characters says "stop f*****g around." This seems unintentional, however.
