Any guesses on what the parkwide loop could be this year? I’m hoping we get Midnight Syndicate’s music throughout

Every year I say the same thing, but the event (and the overall resort) could use more traditional Halloween decor that can be reused each year.

Some nice fall decor in the non-scare zone sections of the park/entrance will do a lot to bring "Halloween" back into Halloween Horror Nights. (not saying HHN lacks Halloween content, just think it could benefit from more decor)

I think the music is a huge part, perhaps the most important part, of making it all feel “on purpose.”

That's why I'm wondering. With them wanting more of a cohesive gothic vibe across the event....

Is this the year they ditch the high-energy club mix and we see Midnight Syndicate featured prominently again?

I think this would be beneficial even for daytime operations!

Definitely agree. My first year attending was 28 and I distinctly remember the music being a huge part of why I came to love the event so much. The past few years, I’ve noticed that you can barely hear the music when you’re in certain areas of the park which really makes it feel like a dead zone. Also can remember years past when the music was loud even as you’re walking over the bridge toward the arches from Citywalk, especially 29’s park loop which got me so hyped as I was coming into the park. The past couple years at least, it’s been very hard to even hear the music at the entrance, which was disappointing. Hoping that changes this year!

what parts of the park are those? and does it have to do with the properties around the park? like the potter area or Simpsons area? men in black?
I've always hated when some areas can't have the music playing.

+1 on the music volume at the front gate. Was a pretty cool experience crossing the bridge from citywalk and having the 2019 loop hit you. Not sure when that changed, but I think it’s hurt the energy entering the event.

I really really really doubt it. they haven't really used midnight around the streets in a while. it's just the metal techno stuff they seem to be happy with.

I wouldn't think so. They partnered with Midnight Syndicate to make those limited releases for HHN 30 and again for the Legendary Truth: The Collective album the next year.

It was decorating the entryway like a movie theater, complete with ticket booth, scareactors, and a video screen with the Usher welcoming us in. Speaking of Usher, even before going to the park you had a teaser website with an entire miniature Universal Palace Theater with little dolls you could explore.

This was my first year, and oh man did they set the bar high. I wish they'd do that again, the video screens & entrance decorations that is.

Like Phobias and the Universal Palace Theater, broad themes work best. You just want some scaffolding that the houses can all coexist together in, so a focus on thematic placemaking over in-depth story works better I'd say. Like others pointed out, there's a real opportunity to lean into the event itself being an Artist's Haunted Conservatory, and each house and zone one of his paintings either pulling us in or escaping into our world. The narrative's fine on paper, the question would be how well they'll actually execute tying the everything together.

Like you said, this is a good narrative on paper, but it feels like the wrong year for it. There are some IPs that you could stretch to be part of a big twisted art gallery, but why would a 19th century Spanish artist be painting radroaches and Freddy Fazbear?

That being said, I'd be all over it if they put faux-oil paintings (like the ones at Das Stakehaus, but obv much smaller) at the house entrances just to create a little bit of a sense of continuity.

Yeah, I guess you’re right. I’m specifically thinking of the walkway along the lagoon in front of Diagon Alley and Simpsons so it could have to do with IP rights. Maybe they just need more speakers around the lagoon. I’m sure it will really help if the lagoon show comes back too.

the entire area from men in black to Simpsons is so dead lol. not just the music but that area is darker than the rest of the park, doesn't have that much lighting, kinda depressing lol.

Ok, this is admittedly the most nitpicky nitpick, because ultimately names do not matter in the least, especially given that people almost unilaterally shorten them to one or two descriptors anyway (Museum, Oddfellow, Goblins, Monsters, etc), but with the streak we are on this year I am fully prepared for something like:

Vikings: Fjord Bjetter or Fjord Norse
