I was looking back at the house codenames, and I thought given that rumors and announcements are starting to solidify, and since we also have the Horror Night Nightmares spec map that is seeming pretty reliable, it might be fun to speculate a bit about these again. Some of this was doubtlessly covered last time:

• SS22 - Poppy - Based on spec map, the Goya-inspired house. Could be poppy in terms of opium, hallucinations, dark dreams, etc.? That would fit with the Black Paintings inspiration, etc.
• SS23A - Snapdragon - Based on spec map, the WWE house. Is it as simple as snapping/fighting for wrestlers? I don't know enough about WWE.
• SS23B - Violet - Based on spec map, FNAF. Apparently, William Afton, the Springtrap/Matthew Lillard character, is Purple Guy in the games.
• SS24B - Lily - Based on spec map, the graveyard house. Makes sense with lillies at funerals, etc.
• SS25 - Poinsettia - Based on spec map, Terrifier. Poinsettia is Christmas-related, and of course Terrifier 3 had the Christmas theme.
• Fast & Furious - Jasmine - Based on spec map, Jason Universe. I actually can't really think of a connection there, other than perhaps the "Ja" start of the names lol.
• Sprung Tent 1 - Carnation - Based on spec map, Hatchet & Chains. Nothing really good for this, other than (I) carnations have that kind of spicy western scent; and (ii) carnation rhymes with tarnation
• Sprung Tent 4 - Daisy - Based on spec map, Fallout. Apparently there is a ghoul NPC named Daisy in one of the Fallout games. But I think the better idea is the famous Daisy ad from the 1964 presidential election, which was nuclear holocaust, etc., perfect for Fallout.
• Sprung Tent 2 - Iris - Based on spec map, Toys. No real idea about this.
• Sprung Tent 3 - Tulip - Based on spec map, Vikings. Main idea for this one is that tulips are associated with the Netherlands, which are close-ish to Scandinavia. But it's a stretch.

There's a plot point around a recurring can of condensed milk in Westworld. Carnation is the top brand of condensed milk

29 was the last true year they truly tied codenames. From 30 on, it was themed to a specific group; if something fit a house, they'd do it, but otherwise, no ties.

Like I said, not for all. They choose a theme and stick with it. They changed it because the codenames would quasi-confirm rumors, and even if there was a tie-in, you wouldn't know the significance until after the fact.

Yeah, I remember learning the connections after 2023 and no one would ever guess the house based on the codename.

Think it was:
Orange = Chucky
Pear = The Last of Us
Grape = Exorcist
etc etc
