Something that came to mind recently….

Y'all remember the rumored Toy zone that we were supposed to be getting last year but apparently didn’t because of parade shenanigans of some sort?
I find it awfully convenient that we are getting a Toy store house this year with a concept that is so close to what we were supposed to get last year.
Just food for thought…

Toyz

Toyz was one of the four scarezones that were featured during Halloween Horror Nights 2012 (Hollywood). It was located on Baker Street. The scarezone would return apart of Halloween Horror Nights 2023 (Hollywood) and it was located on New York Street. Hidden away on the foggy streets of London...

For those what we are taking about? the toymaker toy shop is set in London that was the original plot of 2012 in Hollywoods but in 2023 they retconned the original zone to give him the front of the park entrance. In Hollywood 2023 scaremony

I wonder if they are going for the original plot with The London toy store?

So, if Studio Screamers return this year, who do we think we'll get? My thoughts are:
  • FNAF Freddy Fazbear
  • Jason
  • Terrifier Art the Clown
  • Storyteller, Lady Luck, Cindy, Fear, Terra Queen, Dr. Oddfellow, Mary Agana, Bone, or Sinist3r and Surr3al
  • Phantom of the Opera or Hunchback

It's always fascinated me when people look down on things other people enjoy, in any manner.

This is especially ultra-ironic considering it's being posted on, y'know, a forum for theme park discussions.

The only thing I can say, it's that it only sucks when your enjoyment of something ruins everyone's else's time lol

Like when extreme fans of the academy of villains show would scream and jump during the show and you could tell the people around them were not having a good time.

It also happened in houses where overly enthusiastic fans of the property wouldn't stop screaming and trying to shake hands with the house characters or try dancing with them lol. Cheering at every boo hole.

At some point your enthusiastic enjoyment could ruin someone's One And only day at the park.

The IP Screamers usually have to be a Universal property.

That said, I could see a M3gan variant in there. Not sure about Freddy F. They would probably have to use a “movie version”, if there’s any difference in the design from the game.

For HHN specific characters, I could see Oddfellow finally getting a release. Probably Skull Guy from last year, and maybe another Hollywood character.

Wasn’t able to go that year because of Hurricanes but friends told me that happened at The Weeknd house. Some guy bowing and praising every weeknd look alike. I can see how distracting that would be.

Not only distracting but it's like someone spoiling everything in a horror movie. Like if someone told you when each kill in a slasher movie was gonna happen.
It literally spoils the entire experience.
Some extreme fans know every boo hole so they either start cheering or dancing even before the actor comes out. It's very horrible lol.

Or a couple of times I noticed that the person cheering knows the cast or something so they hug them or stuff in the middle of a run, which is a friendly thing to do, but it completely could ruin someone's only time visiting that house. I've seen that a few times.

Have not experienced that yet but thinking they should just do a secret password or something to acknowledge each other. Common case of selfishness. I only see a house once maybe twice for the year. If I had a bad run because of something like that I would not be happy.

It’s not professional, I’ll agree. But, speaking as a former scareactor, moments like that should happen once or twice over thousands of interactions (a scareactor, if active, can individually scare 2k-3k people a night). They are exceedingly rare. That rarity can make the moment a highlight from the other side of employee’s perspective.

It can also be very hard for scareactors to recognize friends in the moment, unless the friend IS distracting. The darkness, noise, and rhythm allows scareactors in houses to kinda zone out and go on autopilot.

I say all that, acknowledging HHN management isn’t a fan of those moments either. They want every guest to get the same experience. If a guest is ruining every scare specifically because they know the cast (this will sometimes happen later in the season when performers get the night off and go through), you can say something at the end of the house—though that will likely result in some sort of reprimand to whoever that employee is and the house cast getting lectured. So, your mileage may vary.

I wouldn’t want to get anybody in trouble for something like that but if they gave me another run through, that would be great. But like I said, I have not experienced that myself in my few visits over the year.

what I’m scared about is those kids throwing things in the FNAF house lol. Like the Minecraft movie I don’t want to get hit by a flying object

If you see it, report it. That is legitimately something that could endanger performers and needs to be stopped immediately.

Although, I’d hazard a guess that you won’t see that sort of thing with anywhere near the sort of frequency at HHN. A part of the Minecraft virulence—I think—related to the ability to control easily film the moments for social media. That is far more difficult to accomplish in a house where a congo line pushes the culprit forward, performers can choose to engage/not engage, and there is an active security presence.

As a former scare actor at a haunt here in PA (not HHN level obviously, but we'd break 8-10k people on busy nights) - I agree.

Weird interactions like that with people can be fun and help break up the monotony of scare acting sometimes. It shouldn't be distracting to others, but a particular guest being a bit more interactive than most guests was always fun.
(assuming they were interactive in a good way)

Can confirm. Guests being interactive in a bad way (punching you) is not a fun time for scareactors.

In the past years of going, the cast member thing I mentioned, I've seen it around 4 times, but they were pretty bad, (one of them seemed to be a manager or a supervisor or something from their clothing and badge and stuff) . It would have left a pretty bad memory if I couldn't repeat.

I would never say anything about it or anything at the event, and I was always spoiled with a frequent fear pass so I can just repeat the houses,
But the hugging and the cheering, if that was my only time visiting, it would have been pretty sad.
Not only because the scares were spoiled, but you couldn't really see their costumes.

I can understand that people love their friends or their casts, I can understand having some fun and bringing some joy to the casts, I can understand that the scare actor job can be hard, but it was pretty bad to experience.
It goes back to what I was saying about your enjoyment of something hurting someone else. About the wwe fans lol :lmao:
