Personally I’m fine with no icon this year, because I know the New icons and the old ones will be back at 35. Because that’s an anniversary year, Also I think the Vampires in the Halloween Zone will be hinted their following Pumpkin Lord. Then 36 we have a new icon and theme. I’m so excited for this year regardless.

As far as Icons, I'm good with no icon as long as the event has a unifying theme like others have mentioned. 28/29 are a great example of this. And like others have said.. next year is HHN 35. So I'm sure we will see Icons.

I am fine either way, I do love a good Icon though. But this was actually why I thought an Icon may come...connect the story back to the others and give them "reason" to show up at HHN 35, not that its needed. For example though, Crowe so easily connects to Oddfellow and Jack (and is an Aiello creation). If it would have been him...then you have reason for them and maybe a few others to resurface. It would have been cool to tie together, it was really the merch to swing me that direction. I was actually ok with a whole new icon all together, when I had first heard of the killer art house...it was a little to easy to connect the Killustrator. But I thought it would have been interesting for us to borrow an icon from another park, since Jack has been all over. Could be cool one day for him to bring someone back with him, one we haven't seen here in Orlando.

Maybe you don't care much for the IP, but for a lot of fans, it's a fun day and would've made a splash with them and that's who they want to grab the attention of, the fans. But whatever. Not expecting F13 to get an announcement on Friday the 13th, with the biggest reasoning being that, they're just not that smart from a marketing standpoint.

The iykyk was in reference to the guy in the HHN spec thread last year who was going off on everyone about Ghostbuster's Day, how important it was, and how we were ABSOLUTLEY going to get an announcement on that day(Ron Howard: "We didn't"). They were getting into fights with the admins and i'm pretty sure got banned over it.

Wasn't me but I know who you're talking about because that's what first got my attention regarding that first announcement last year. Anywho, I still don't really see Uni doing a F13 announcement on Friday the 13th. They just don't seem smart enough to line up an announcement like that on such a perfect opportunity.

I swear if Aiello ruins the post 2021/HHN 30 icon streak (Pumpkin Lord 2022 > Oddfellow 2023 > Sinister & Surreal 2024) I'll be so annoyed. Ugh. Hot take but I really enjoyed Sinister and Surreal despite the execution being iffy. I rather have a mid level icon than no icon at all.

And that’s how you water down icons. Try to do it with full commitment or don’t do it at all.

Aiello co-created Bloody Mary and The Usher. So he has a record of successful icons. If he decides that it’s not the year for an icon, I trust his judgment. And if he does decide to do an icon, maybe not this year but in a future year, I’m going to be all in.
