5N@F - probably the most wished-for house on social media the past decade. IP as close to mainstream recognition as any horror IP has had since the 80s.

Fallout -- top 5 show while it was debuting on streaming and probably the #2 show of all time on Prime (behind Reacher) PLUS well over a decade of game fans. Not Stranger Things or Squid Game 1, few things are, but very much of the moment.

WWE -- an iconic company that routinely sells out arenas with a huge overlap with the HHN fanbase (with a huge UK fanbase as well). The publicity the TV shows will give the event alone makes this worth it--there's a reason WWE has so many sponsors.

Poltergeist -- iconic movie, iconic house.

Terrifier -- the "it" IP among horror fans right now, even if not huge in the mainstream. Gory enough to give the event street cred, but still recognizable enough even normies have seen the evil clown.

Still not guaranteed any of these show up, but on paper, hard to imagine a more diverse yet good-for-business line-up than this.

There was no F13 on the latest spec map. Doesn't mean it's not happening cause people do keep referencing it, but I don't know if its as likely as some of the others listed.

It was on the last spec map and will likely show up on HNNs next one. It’s also on the map HoH posted. I’ve heard the rumor for a while outside of the speculation maps

am I the only one not interested in any of the speculated IPs this year? Never been a WWE fan, never played Fallout, think Terrifier is overhyped. I’m interested to see what they do with them, but definitely more excited to see what the originals are this year

I'm with ya.. I feel like the post-apocalypse house has been a bit overdone.... Seeds, Descendants, TLOU, AQP.... Also zombieland if we're including zones. They're all a bit different in their own ways, but I feel like most of them are "ruins of what earth used to be" and then a monster. Terrifier could be fun, FNAF could be ok as it's pretty different from anytime we've had the last few years. I'm on the fence with poltergeist.. I loved it in 18; however, I do feel there are some other IP properties that deserve a shot prior to getting a repeat. All speculation though... Maybe there will be some surprises by the start.

I have never played Fallout nor have I watched any of the show. If it comes to HHN, I guess I will have to check out the show. It's just.. well, how many apocalypse type shows can one watch? I guess if that's your thing.. good on you. I do watch Last of Us and enjoy it very much.. but do I want another end of the world type show taking up my time? Probably not.

Yes - you do :) TLOU season 2 will end with plenty of time to watch Fallout!

I see people saying that the post-apocalyptic stuff has been overdone - but I think Fallout has such varied environments and characters that it will break from that trend. Despite a general "run-down" look, TLOU and Fallout are VERY different properties.

Yeah, the arch, retro, sci-fi bent of Fallout is quite different from the usual post-apocalypse. If anything I'd expect the tone to remind me of Bugs: Eaten Alive more than Descendants of Destruction.

Obviously also, it comes down to taste. If you are a big fan of a slasher movies, having two slasher houses would be awesome, and they would feel different, even though if you squint they both are similar (villain with weapons tries to kill people). I would say Terrifier and Scream, for example, would have very different vibes. But, I can appreciate that if someone liked slasher movies less than I do, having both would seem kind of duplicative. Same thing for post-apocalyptic - since that is not my favored subgenre, my kneejerk reaction is to say TLOU and Fallout would feel duplicative. But I think you are probably right they could feel very different, especially the more you knew about the properties and appreciated what they were going for.

Absolutely - makes sense!

Like @Tereglith said - the tone of Fallout will be much different than The Last of Us or DoD. There are occasional bleak moments in Fallout, but it's not a general bleakness like the latter two. Bugs: Eaten Alive is a great comparison to the general tone of Fallout - I'd lump Sweet Revenge into that too.

Goofy, campy but also terrifying at moments. :lmao:

NGL, while Poltergeist is an obviously great horror movie, and I absolutely adored the house, this feels...so random (not an anniversary year, no recent remake coming up) and so soon to repeat it again. I know we've had repeats before but it seemed like in the past there was more time in between to bring a house back as a repeat.

Edit: I stand corrected. I did NOT remember AWiL returning after only 2 years. That's crazy. I swore there was a longer time in between.

Hey guys, thanks for taking the time to further explain what to expect on Fallout. It's good to read what you've written here as that peaks my interest more. At least now I am thinking that if Fallout comes, it won't be a chore to watch it. :)

It is a VERY easy and casual watch and I've yet to meet someone who doesn't like it outside of those who argue lore; And even then, they're contrarians that REALLY enjoy splitting hairs.

Me - be playing Fallout games for 20+ years - be excited for TV show - love TV show - be excited for horror nights house - repeat

My gf - never heard of fallout before - makes fun of the voice acting and way i play the games when she watches me play them - have no idea how the show is going to go down, but watch it with me out of vague interest - love the TV show - be excited for horror nights house - repeat

Horror nights? Profit.
video game thumbs up GIF by Bethesda

And honestly, this is a good read for anyone who has doubts fallout can be scary.
Is fallout HORROR? No. But it is horror-adjacent sci-fi and that's definitely enough to bring a banger of a house.

In fairness, it's been seven years! That's not a long time but I don't think it's all that recent, either.

I am in the same boat as you. With that said, I've learned not to rely on the IP as an indicator of the house's potential success. Big fan of Beetlejuice, disappointed by the house. Not the biggest fan of Frozen Empire, loved the house last year.

I can see WWE being interesting and Terrifier being a gorier take on a Halloween house. Fallout is the one I'm skeptical on as it's another apocalyptic based house that we tend to see every other year or so.

WWE is the most interesting to me out of them all, but only depending on the route they take. I’d love to be immersed in wrestling scenes like rings, arenas, backstage areas-but I’m not convinced that’s the direction they’re going to take. I could be way off, but I feel like they’re going to base it off the “lore” of a WWE persona, and it won’t make sense if you’re not a fan. For example, The Weeknd’s house, it was cool, yes, but you couldn’t have known what it was about from the house alone, especially if you didn’t know who The Weeknd was. Does that make sense? I’m sensing a slasher house with a WWE’s artist label, and if that’s the case, I’m really not interested.

Eh, I get what you're saying but I am Not A Fan of The Weeknd's Whole Deal and still found the themes/story of the house pretty easy to decipher. Of course, it is not exactly subtle, which helped.

I'd love to see an original take on a WWE-like organization that's essentially The Darkest Deal meets The Wrestler with a Vince McMahon, ah, inspired character as the devil. I do not think we'll get anything like this if it comes with WWE's stamp of approval.

Fallout is a white whale IP for me personally, and I'm thrilled it's (RUMORED TO BE) coming. The FNAF craze started right as I was getting into the event over a decade ago, so I have more vested interest in it as well even if it's not on Fallout's level for me.

Those two alone make it one of the more exciting IP lineups in recent years. WWE adds curiosity, and Poltergeist was long enough ago and unique enough to warrant a repeat house. Terrifier is the only one I'm less enthused on just because I don't like the first film, but there's potential there.

Like @LPCaptainDeath said - it drives me INSANE when I've seen people say that Fallout doesn't belong at HHN because it isn't horror. There are several parts of every Fallout game that are downright terrifying. And not even at the specific locations in that article - there are large, scary mutated creatures all throughout the game.

I would absolutely give it a shot! It's certainly not what I think you're expecting. :) the trailer can give you a good idea of the tone of Fallout:

And I'm right there with @ThemeParks4Life .. my #1 wishlist IP was always The Last of Us. And now that that's done.. Fallout is #1. So this is a BIGGUN for me!

Gonna do a late night musing. I wonder if SS24A is MIA this year—because they are no longer using it for the sake of HHN.

Been on the belief that Fan Fest Nights feels natural for Orlando. And I’ve been kind of quietly wondering and thinking about it, and my mind leads me to wonder if Orlando’s construction times warrant them having to have SS24A (and maybe SS19 or 20) clear for larger construction related to FFN.

I don’t think they’d be impacted by Fast—but perhaps it’s just my thinking. And that I think FFN is unironically a good choice in a post EU market.

Would mean that going forward, SS24A would’ve had it’s swan song be Insidious; but I think that isn’t a bad note to end on for the sake of HHN.

Honestly - this works better for me anyway. Of all the Slaughter Sinema concepts to return, I would have been very confused by Hatchet and Chains being the one they chose.

I'm definitely not blown away by the rumored IP list, but once again, I'll let myself get hopeful for FNAF lol I never played the games, the movie didn't blow me away, but the concept and aesthetic just feel so perfect for a house that I'd love to see it!
I have no interest in watching Terrifier, so the house doesn't appeal. Not a wrestling girly, so a WWE house doesn't get me excited but I feel it at least probably leaves them room to make it sort of like an original. I've heard amazing things about the Poltergeist house (that was before I started going to HHN), so I'd like to see it, but I don't like the movie at all, so it's really only curiosity about if the house is as good as people say. Never seen or played Fallout, but it's on my list to eventually get around to. Worried, like others have said, that it'll be just another apocalyptic house.

I will say, despite me not being into most of the IPs, I mentioned them to a friend of mine who previously has had no interest in HHN, and the thought of a WWE house had her asking me to keep her posted on if it happens because she would want to go for that. And another friend who has never been said he'd love to come down to see a Fallout house. So these are definitely properties that appeal to the general public. lol I'm just picky apparently
