Alright, I'm going to step in here because I feel my responsibility is to set some expectations, even though that may break some hearts or rub people the wrong way.

The rumor is putting the cart before the horse - so to speak

Yes, I've heard the rumor of 11 houses - but when I said we're still at 10 houses the other day, it's because we're still at 10 houses. Without getting into specifics... the rumor comes with an asterisk for it to happen, and as far as I'm concerned, when you have to add an asterisk about it being included, it's not worth mentioning. As I, and others, have said - plans are always changing with the event. What's planned in Jan won't be the same as March, and probably won't be the same in July. There also can be miscommunication, old info, or sometimes - just a bad game of telephone.

We've seen it before. Remember when people were certain Casper was coming last year?

That's not to say 11 houses can't happen, but I wouldn't expect it as of now - and that brings me to why I think it's unlikely:

Staffing Issues.

Universal has upped the incentives, but they still have issues every year. They need to comfortably staff 10 houses for a couple of years before they think about adding an 11th. It also does nothing for crowds. By adding an extra house, you're adding to the capacity of the park; meaning you can have more people in the park. It doesn't spread the crowds more, it just adds to it.

Bottom line - and I know this sounds like a cop-out - but it's 10 houses until it's not.

That's the beauty of rumors. There are bound to be errors when info is coming second-hand.

Staffing issues is a great reason for a Final Destination house. Just have a few behind the scenes people who can pull some strings and levers...

Yes  but not as a house, like people were adamantly saying. It was because some merch featured him that it was assumed a house was coming, too.

Point is, the picture is fuzzy now but it'll become much clearer later this year.

That’s what rumor/Spec season is and what makes it so great. A rumor is a rumor that turns into speculation and thats what this thread is for.

Glad to see Invasion getting more weight! Assuming if it is possible; I wonder what direction they go compared to the original scarezone--especially with Bugs now out of the way in a 60s quality and tone.

You literally had one of the best posts in the past few pages.

Something interesting I came across when reading about Erik(the Phantom of the Opera) is that he sleeps in a coffin like a vampire. Got me thinking maybe we r getting a phantom house and the phantom/Dracula rumor started bc of the whole coffin sleeping.

And people totally passed over it because of this 11th house talk. And which one do you think is more likely to happen?

Hmmm interesting. Thanks Joe for pointing this out. 11 houses probably won’t happen lol and tbh I doubt it’s a good idea but it’s a rumor I saw so I posted it here. Apparently it’s from HNN and their discord but I can’t say for sure as I don’t keep up with the discord.

With Phantom of the Opera House, I stared to read about the original(Erik) and came across that he slept in a coffin like a vampire. I thought this was interesting as the rumore was a Phantom/Dracula house. I’m not really familiar with Phantom of the Opera so I’m not sure if this is also with the other versions but could it be that we will get the original version?

Updating in the terms of Legacy: the two that have now been considered irrelevant for discussion for the future has been cracked once again on the HNN Discord group. This has been cracked by the combining of Maddux, Chaotic Neutral, and TJRandell (and thanks to Legacy for realizing that the clues for these got botched in the process of formatting).

As figured out, the houses that seemingly no longer have relevancy are that of Devil Dogs (The Lunchroom of Doom : Ready-for-Chapters #2 as found by Chaotic and TJRandell), and Japanese Creatures (The Japanese Myths: A Guide to Gods, Heroes and Spirits as found by Maddux).

You joke, but they've been starting to lean more on puppets, screens, projections, etc. the last few years. Things that don't need a specific person cast in the part. Just a worm body, and/or things to fill in the space between actors.

This could also work with a Saw type of house

I’ve always wondered why they can’t use the stage by Rip Ride. I know they use that area to queue for a house, but since Stranger Things, I don’t remember that queue being that full. So maybe cut half the queue and have a show there?

Or we could do like the old days and set up a stage in a more empty area of the park and have a show there.

Could possibly set the stage for a Dead by Daylight house sometime in the future.

It may be possible if they don't have a big IP in that spot!

as long as we can sit down I dont really care. The last 4 years my second favorite part of the event has been plopping my fat butt on a seat and being barraged with loud music and lights and turning my brain and feet off for 30 minutes lol.

One of my favorite things is getting to the lagoon show early, getting a good spot and sitting down on the ground for 30 minutes haha

I don't think it's feasible to have a show there during HHN. Not only the issue with the queue, but that area of the park is so busy as it is. While you have the standing room area in front of the stage, people would just stop on the street to watch whatever is going on. When they had Jack's show by Mels, they had ropes set up all night that would restrict where you could walk and stuff and had people manning the entrances, having a bunch of ropes set up and ops people in the main thorofare where all the Sound Stage houses and two scare zones are would just be a nightmare. If you tried to enter the park during a show, you'd pretty much be forced to go down Hollywood and trek to your first house in Kidzone or cut along the water to get to like the 4th or 5th SS house.

The stage they had for Jack was a great location as it's so wide open with a lot of lines of sight to see what's going on, but with the lagoon show, that's pretty much a no go.

The rockit stage (if they remove that queue entrance) is a better location than the Jack/AoV temp stage they would set up. The event is too busy to have a stage at Hollywood block a portion of the Central Park zone.

They couldn't use the Hollywood location anyway, the crepe stand is smack dab where the stage would be
