Yep, the bathtub scene alone is honestly almost 1:1 with the trailer to the point its almost funny.

It is genuinely wild. That was the first time I watch a video of it and as soon as I saw the bathtub I thought "... that looks very familiar" lol.

Then I saw the numbered doors.. the bed.. the red-headed mannequins.. the kitchen.. wowzah

And as far as TLOU/DoD... yeah they're gonna be totally different lol. Completely different settings and creatures/characters.

Based on the recent Spec Map (assuming these were the actual houses on opening day), id have to say IMO, I see no major hitters outside TLOU. This feels like a down year for me, compared to years of past. Still exciting but nothing hits me like.... have to plan my trip now to see this or that house! Time will tell!

just goes to show how individual HHN is for people. My daughter and I think that these 4 “confirmed but speculated” IPs so far look really fun for *us* and if the guitar clue is either stranger Things or a music act we actually care about, we will be 5/5 on IPs for the first time since we’ve been going.

I’ve learned that houses I’m excited for sometimes suck and houses I’m sure will suck often become favorites.

True and true!

Something that also comes to mind for me is this, sometimes the Big IP/"Heavy Hitter" is a swing-and-a-miss, or at least doesn't hit as hard as it should. Sometimes that's by its own design (and marketing hype), other times it's because fan expectations were beyond what it could ever do, and other times it's a mix of both, along with cast issues/effects breaking. Either way, there have been notable IP's which folks were really excited to see, and they weren't the hit one thinks they'd be. Some examples being a good chunk of The Walking Dead (save for 2016, but you could argue that was no longer a big IP compared to previous years.), Ghostbusters after the first three weeks, Stranger Things 2019 and most recently, Beetlejuice.

Based on permits so far, do we know if the Minions flex space will be receiving a house this year? I remember seeing that F&F will return, but if Minions isn't used, I hope it gets used for something else, even if its probably minor. Maybe a rest space or indoor seating for food booths? Hopefully not something that requires much staffing

I don't think it will be used as a house yet, but that's actually a great idea to have a themed indoor space with tables/a bar/etc.

Something HHN would benefit tremendously with. The bars at Howl O Scream were very popular with the entertainment/atmosphere it provided.

These IPs in particular -- I thought original Insidious film was mid at best, but its house was one of the most unnerving I've ever walked through. Similarly, never really got into Chucky, but his last house was fine, pretty sure his zone was my top of the year. And anything Megan gets the benefit of the doubt after Black Phone somehow worked last year.

Also I don't know if there's ever been a more "theme park fan problems" statement than "Other than TLoU and Stranger Things these IPs aren't that exciting." Do an event with just those two houses, you'd still have sold out nights. We're looking at the early TWD years times two, a pair of beloved IPs firmly in the zeitgeist.

I think Chucky, The Last of Us, Stranger Things, and Universal Monsters are all HUGE draws. If we get 3/4 of those it will be a good event for IP.
