I've got scareactors in Brides, Icons, Seek and Destroy, and Puppet saying no plexi as of Wednesday. Haven't heard from any IPs. That's my contribution to the conversation. Take it as you will.

Heyo, again, don't want to spawn another entire conversation/argument. But I also don't wanna mislead people. A lot of these actors have very recently let me know plexi has been installed in a lot of their houses, as Legacy had posited might happen. Just wanna clear things up as they come along.

Any idea if it’s hard Plexi or more “Shower Curtain” material?

***NOT A PLEXIGLASS QUESTION***

Does anyone recall if they raise the prices for FF and ROF right before or as the event starts? I seem to remember a few years ago putting it off until the last second and FF costing a little more than I thought I had seen it advertised... is is that my memory was terrible in the moment or does anyone else recall that happening any year.

I guess you could say I've already put it off a lot this year, but if they've never actually hiked prices when the event starts I'll probably just wait until next week.

There is both hard Plexi and Vinyl curtains wherever neccesary.

All 7 houses that have rehearsed so far have reported plexi to me. Might be better to rip off this band-aid early.

It’s also become apparent that the plexi-like surfaces are causing significant problems beyond cast morale. (Predictably, it seems many of the performers hate them. No idea if people are actually quitting, but it wouldn’t shock me.)

Apparently, you can’t currently see the scares.

Fog, condesation, and heat have been issues. I doubt many actually follow through with quitting, it's a stable decent-paying job for Central FL entertainers. Still technically possible for it to lead to problems.

We'd be seeing the same quitting remarks if they mandated vaccines which most people here support, we'll see how many actually leave.

Inevitably, due to guest feedback, Plexi-glass is gone by the start of Week 3 at the latest.

Set a reminder for 9/15 and come quote this post.

Most years you're probably right (also prestige of working event).

This year, the competition is offering a $500 bonus and a Fun Card to do the same job with a somewhat lighter schedule. Bound to be somewhat of a factor.

This might be a bit of a stretch, but I can even see plexiglass on opening night, already gone on second night.

Well, they wouldn’t have time to remove it in one day. So that won’t happen.

Someone in upper management needs to pay more attention to the recent info on plexi glass covid safety issues. Don't these people read the national newspapers, or are they twitter people.

Do you think that if people start complaining from the first night they might take the decision to remove it as soon as possible or would they really leave it for the whole event? I've already read several times that some scares are not seen and I'm worried that this is the case.

Curious, how long does it actually take to install or take them out?

I’m confused as how you can’t see scares? Last year with plexi glass you could see the scares coming but you could still see the scares. How is it different this year?

To my understanding, they tried a different type of material that was intended to be less obvious/visible and more durable. Ironically, it seems to have created severe ventilation issues (who... would have guessed) that are contributing to serious visibility issues of the actual scares, even with the bright trigger lighting.

My guess is the opening weekend may be a mess if immediate changes aren't instituted. (I don't think they will be.) After that, performer objections + guest outcry + feasibility issues may prompt a pivot between event weeks.
