Ok so something weird is going on. Upper management is being told plexi and the scareactors that have physically been rehearsing and in the houses that I know said no plexi. I’m guessing management is having conversations about it, but nothing is confirmed, and we shall see in two weeks. I honestly don’t think it’s coming, but end of day I don’t think anyone should be trying to plan their trips around whether it’s coming or not. We shall see what happens. ‍♂️ One thing I know is true, whatever decision they make will not please everyone.

The people I've talked to have physically seen the plexi which makes this all very odd  In several houses at the very least. Who knows where the miscommunication is coming from hah.

It’s not that difficult to understand guys. A last minute, executive decision was made to add plexi (by last minute, a few days before rehearsals started). Rehearsals started before plexi was able to be installed. Since the initial rehearsals, plexi has been getting installed. The scareactors who have not seen the plexi likely had rehearsals before it was installed.

Like, time’s a factor.

So that means every house has it and end of story right? So time to put this topic to rest?

From my understanding, every house is getting plexi installed. Some scenes (where plexi cannot physically be installed because of scene’s design) will likely not have it.

That said, nothing is confirmed until it’s confirmed. The best confirmation of the extent of the plexi installation will not likely come until opening night because they have until opening night to install it.

Okay, thank you for the info. Always appreciate ya. Just trying to get myself ready for it. I wasn’t a fan of it during HHN lite. I’m sure it will still be an excellent event, they’re going above and beyond with the streets this year.

If plexi glass is happening, I’m grateful I’m not going opening weekend as there is still a good possibility they could just remove it.

From what i've heard, we're looking at vinyl coverings for the boo holes instead of plexiglass (because it's not as distracting, i.e. not shiny)

That’s actually pretty cool. I hope they rework how it was placed, too. I specifically remember in Tooth Fairy there was a scene near the end where some of the fairies looked like they were in a test tube because of how awkwardly built the plexi was

And hopefully even that won't last into the 2nd half of the event. Fingers crossed.

I keep going through a bit of back and forth with my feeling on the use of plexi. I saw the walkthroughs last year and was let down by the placement (gave a way many scares). I think I've landed on if it is implemented well and if they use the vinyl to help eliminate broadcasting the scare right away, then I'm ok with their use within the houses. At the end of the day if it helps a scareacter from being punched or hurt and doesn't take away from the scare, then its ok in my book.

It's not news yet, but according to the VIP Tour office, they should be releasing the slate of houses available on the Unmasking the Horror tour soon.

For me there's just too much in the air to really care at this point: it'll be a "wait and see" situation for me. I've heard everything from only one house has it to several houses do but not every scare to some houses have it completely but not others. There' just way too much unknowns and conflicting information.

I know HHN is many people's escape from reality as it my group's, but thinking about how masks or Plexi/shower curtains might interfere with your enjoyment of the event is ridiculous.

Yes, you might only be in any section of the the house for 15sec and all evidence indicates you should be fine...but the scareactors are stuck in that area (I believe) for 45min shift.

GET OVER IT!!!! Would I prefer no masks or Plexi? Of course. But the workers have lives and families too. Does Plexi stop Covid? It's debatable, but if you have a sheet of it in front of you, can water droplets make it your way? No. Science, on both sides of the isle, proves that.

The job of a themepark is to entertain you...but NOT at the risk of their employees, or your, health. Any restrictions implemented are not to screw over your enjoyment...but to protect everybody. They want you to have the best time ever and post your reviews on social media.

Will wearing boots protect you from rattlesnake bites? Not always. Is walking through snake infested areas in flipflops vs boots dangerous? Yes. It's a best practice to keep guests and employees safe...not a guaranteed success or most enjoyable situation, but better than the alternative. Half-assed protection is better than no protection.

Sorry, end of rant.

No one is arguing that the event shouldn’t be safe. The argument is there have been studies proving plexi doesn’t help much, if not make it worse. Plus as someone that went last year it destroys the fear factor. No one cares when the event is free, but when ppl are spending more than ever the argument is they should disclose this or just require masks. Your tone is completely uncalled for attacking many legacy fans of the event.
Now where is the admin to shut down the plexi talk?
We won’t know until next Friday anyway.
