That would fit either Scream, The Conjuring, Ouija, IT, or a couple of the others that never happened. It’s likely not Conjuring/It so it could be Scream.

Wonder if something happened with Dimension opening the purse since later Hellraiser films and Scream are owned by them.

Not QUITE what I'm getting at... I'm suggesting that this is something that has already been part of the event in some capacity.

Also feel like it's way too early for them to have to resort to Purge as a band-aid solution.

Sorry to derail, but looking to book a longer trip from Sunday 10/20 to Saturday 10/26 and today went to get an idea on price. I feel like we should qualify for the free HHN ticket, but when I go to book it comes up as unavailable, but it's not because of the hotels (all available when I search hotels separately)... Does anyone know why this is happening? Can it be worked around?

Are you trying to book a vacation package and add the BOGO ticket?

Just to touch on the icon topic a couple pages back, I think the reason people don’t mind bringing jack back is because he’s the only icon that has any personality besides maybe the Caretaker. The other ones are spooky people, but they don’t have the charisma to anchor an event and have their own show. I think they should use anniversary years to introduce icons as well as revisit old ones.

I really enjoyed the show at 25 and the event really needs something to help distribute the crowds.

Now for 29 -hear me out and I know this might sound dumb- would they possibly purposely introduce some of their more iffy original ideas along 1 or 2 major IPs and a few meh ones in order to make 30 feel like a huge blowout? I mean they’re guaranteed major crowds and and anniversary year is going to be huge no matter what. Idk I don’t think they ever skimp on quality but some years seem a little more experimental for better or worse.

I think they’d rather have really good publicity going forward into the anniversary year rather than an “eh” reaction. They probably wanna ride that good word of mouth from 29 into 30 while still saving the really big guns for the latter.

I love The Usher as an icon. His personality is incredibly entertaining. Honestly when it comes to IPs, he makes sense since he brings them to life. Jack, even though I love him, is a psychopathic killer clown. The Usher was interesting as he was old school, Phantom of the Opera, ghost story.

It sucks the modern era cares not for icons but as long as they bring them back for anniversary years, I'm fine with it.

24 didn't exactly have good word of mouth, IIRC (aside from Halloween). You might say that was just from the fans, but I don't think there's any risk of the GP having bad word of mouth about 29, so long as ST2 is there.

I'd love Ghostbusters or Beetlejuice. They both have visually interesting material and plenty of opportunity for scares. Maybe those properties are too family friendly for some, but I think either one has great potential.

Forgive me if this is a silly question, but has HHN ever re-used a property for multiple years? I'm going for the first time this year and I really would love to see Killer Klowns again. Sadly I feel like it isn't very likely, but figured I would ask if Universal has done something like that in the past.

Oh yes. Walking Dead five straight years, much to the dismay of fans.

A better comparison is Trick 'r Treat--was a scarezone at 27 (2017), and a house at 28 (2018). Killer Klowns is rumored to get the same treatment, it would be a head scratcher for them to not want to get as much use out of those costumes as possible.
