HHN typically has its comedy house. HDD2U could be a fun one.

The issue is that Killer Klowns is still a strong possibility--why would they not want to get maximum mileage out of those costumes? I love Killer Klowns, but the thing with comedy houses is that they're more effective when placed in a lineup of scary ones.

TBF, HDD wasn't portrayed comedically really at Blumhouse last year.

I really want Scream to happen so bad, but the rights being such a mess, I can't see it happening yet. Killer Klowns has me curious as I know there is a strong possibility they will do it, just curious how. Those costumes are huge.

Are we certain the rights are still a mess? I’m sure people have seen the clip from Scream that Google edited and used for a Google Home commercial.

I hope you're correct Nute, but I just read an article from February about the TV show rights being kind of messy right now, and them breaking their deal with Netflix, but maybe that's just in relation to the MTV show. Since Netflix and HHN seem to be working together if Scream wasn't working with Netflix that wouldn't bode well in my eyes, but honestly I have no idea how all this stuff works.

I think the event can rely on Stranger Things to market the event, and not have to worry about not having other IPs available. And with Blumhouse increasing their production, there's more in-house IPs to work with that don't require the major hassle of outside IPs.

That joke from Family Guy takes place at the top of Season 4, the first episode to air since the show returned from its cancellation (though that isn't the operative word here). The point of the joke is Peter lists a bunch of shows that FOX tried to launch, and couldn't... meaning Family Guy had to "come back" and be revisited. (That last word isn't a Scream House reference.)

Maybe that helps?

I will say I don't think Universal can rely on Stranger Things for too long. The shows creators want to end it either after Season 3 or 4.

After Season 4, but HHN still has a good 3 years of ST left (4 years if they decide to do a "best of" house). Not too mention that any new popular IPs can emerge by the time they are finished with ST.

That would fit either Scream, The Conjuring, Ouija, IT, or a couple of the others that never happened. It’s likely not Conjuring/It so it could be Scream.

Wonder if something happened with Dimension opening the purse since later Hellraiser films and Scream are owned by them.
