It would be cool if the Mummy can be used for HHN, would spread crowds out more

It sucks it could not be before Stranger things...I would have loved a Vector coaster with running up that Hill being played


But hopefully they are doing it because the Mummy is an easy coaster to retheme, even the Q has a video screen you can use to tell a story if need be.


Also I hope with Fan fest showing people like meeting characters we get a trial meet and greet location, for me its about spreading crowds out in as many ways as you can for HHN, I love the event but it needs more with the current crowds

Enough about FanFest. HHN has been doing photo-ops for years.

post-apocalypse with the Plaza (La Llorona & Katrina) & Lemmale bar area (Bride of Frankenstein, David S Pumpkins)

I…don’t think a Mummy retheme for HHN and FFN is feasible. Besides, we as passholders forget this, but for a good chunk of the GP at HHN, this is their only chance to ride the Mummy. The ride does its job so it doesn’t need an overlay….thats especially if this theory of Mummy getting enhanced is true.

You’re also forgetting that overlaying a ride costs money. LOTS of it. It would easily be the budget of one house, if not more. Also once Fast and Furious opens that will be a glorious crowd suck.

I know people will say its different but Panda goes down for two events now
They sell day tickets and 2 PM ticket....you want the Mummy you can go then
Disneyland has rethemes for Space and most guests enjoy that, normally the line for Ghost Galaxy, Rockin Space Mountain, Hyper Space mountain etc have longer lines then the normal version.

Second on Money that one could be much harder, but could also be a dual deal, like for example Stranger things like you pay a rate or a higher rate so they can have both a house or a rethemed ride. Not saying every company will want this but I'm sure they can find someone who it makes sense to or even just use a Universal IP on the cheap

If it doesn't happen all good, but saying The Mummy is a perfect coaster for a Retheme, it has screens in the Q for the Story, the ride is mostly dark and you could set up area's to project on like they do with Hype Space Mountain, the Bug part is screens so that easy to redo and the last room is also easy to redo. I am not saying it will happen but it just makes sense as something they could use
I'd also be happy to see Despicable me be used rethemeing at Fan fest or HHN and I would say Simpsons but its times so limited I doubt they want to use it for anything else but would be game if they do

I don’t think Netflix would approve of their IP getting shoddily placed as an overlay for one of Universal’s rides. Doubt the rights holders will be thrilled about that. even if there was a Universal IP that could overlay Mummy that brings us back to…

MONEY. Like I said, an overlay is expensive. HHN’s budget is already stretched as is getting rights, building the houses, and staffing them! The Mummy does just fine with the GP so I don’t see the point of wasting the money on an already popular ride with the GP. Even is F&F were to divert away people from Mummy, I still think that money would be best spent elsewhere for the event than just a half-baked overlay.

You could use Minions for a new retheme for HHN but again….MONEY. The cost to retheme a screen ride just for HHN would cost almost as much as a new ride. It’s expensive. Lol

Don't forget the necessary reprogramming for the ride vehicles. Unlike DreamWorks, Minions isn't a regular looking theatre with seats. So yea.. that's $$$ right there for ride programming. Also since DM's queue & overflow area gets used for Parisian & TWDA house queues, that cancels out DM for HHN use.

With that being said, I wouldn't mind a Halloween season overlay for DM to enjoy for regular day-ops.

You must have not went to Fright fest last year....

Jokes Aside we will see if that really limits it use cool but I feel like most people can suspend disbelief and just enjoy the coaster as is....HHN doesn't do themed Q and I've never heard someone upset for that.

Anyway if it happens cool if not whatever hopefully they can find other ways to enhance HHN

That’s correct. The last time we had a solo Jason house, it was in the abandoned Wild West venue and even then it was based on the remake. That’s how long it’s been!

I’d also add on… Mummy’s like a minute and a half long from leaving the station to returning. That’s such a short ride experience to try and shoehorn an overlay into the first few rooms before launch, or even try to establish an XR “story” like they do for the much longer rides (like Space Fantasy) overseas. Anything they’d do — either an overlay or an XR thing — would be shortchanged by virtue of how short the ride itself is already. No one, like you said, is gonna drop money to turn Imhotep into Vecna and the dropping soldiers into Demogorgons for an experience people would get off going, “That’s it?” at the end.
