I never thought I'd see the day.
It's Half Life 1.5 but at least it shows that Valve are still interested in the franchise.
The cheapest will be Oculus Quest (which the game will be supported on), and that costs about 300 when available.Wonder what cheap VR set do I need? I don't want to spend hundreds just to get one. Less than $130 is fine by me.
The entry level Quest is $399 but they are having supply issues, and it only runs Alyx using a Link to a VR-capable PC. A rift S is the same price. I think an Odyssey+ is the cheapest compatible HMD. They most definitely will not.I'm excited for this but I'm not buying a VR headset and if that means I can't play it, then so be it.
I'm sure they will release it for keyboard and mouse soon enough or it will be modded.

I don’t know if that would be possible, I just watched a 30 minute interview with the developers and they stressed how it was built from the ground up for two handed 6° of freedom input.I'm excited for this but I'm not buying a VR headset and if that means I can't play it, then so be it.
