I could very well end up being wrong, but seeing these umbrellas and extended queues, I think that proves that the indoor queue is just not enough to contain the crowds that will swamp this ride. Looking at 7DMT, it has a long queue with some back-and-forths and a long winding pathway. The inside queue of Guardians is just not that long, even with the pre-show rooms.

Its the same queue setup as what they used for Universe of Energy back in the day when it was very popular (UofE had literally NO queue space)

One hill that I will die on is that Universal absolutely crushes Disney in the queues category. So many of Disney's extended queues just amount to a line of umbrellas outside of the attraction.

Well, Disney's "Magic Band Strategy" (which they seemed to have abandoned) was less time in line and was supposed to minimize the need for queues. Now Lightning Lane artificially inflates the queue times and causes them to extend lines into places they should never have been.

I hear you, but Universal can not win while the H:RRR queue still draws breath.

So far the queue extends throughout the entire entrance plaza of the attraction with switchbacks all over the place. I'm sure it's a temporary rope-drop situation only (like how Rise will occasionally use the Muppet Vision switchbacks) and TT being down, but that's not a great guest experience.

They really need to invest in a more proper queue space.

Taking a look, they were definitely getting a feel of how things would flow. For in the morning it started off at 35, then jumped to 170....only to drop back down to 85 twenty minutes later, and then down to 75 and so forth.

And a thing to note, this is all without Test Track and Frozen as that didn't open in the morning. To no surprise to anyone that wasn't expecting 3-4 hour lines, a coaster with a pretty darn good capacity and throughput is gonna' put people through.

Rode last night at park close. Posted was 50, actual was 35.

One thing that might change is enforcing a no seat request policy later in the evening. There was about 10 groups waiting for either the front or back row when the last full train was sent.
