In general i'm not a big fan of Disney pulling the plug on short form WDAS content for D+ and hope they reconsider.

I think I read some where this might have to do with Disney diverting more funds away from D+ and into the parks. Correct me if Im wrong.

Movie question of the day: What’s the dumbest death scene you’ve seen in a film?

This looks like junk food. Really bad junk food that you shouldn't eat, but that you want too because you can't help yourself.

You should watch this movie in theaters because with the rate things are going, you might never get a chance to see big budget auteur stuff in theaters again.

Moana 2 may have ruined cinema. Nothing will ever die now.

I don't think Moana 2 is to blame, it's been like that for awhile now...

Coco like UP before it doesn't need a sequel. It was a great standalone story.

Well they did back track to do an Incredibles 3. Pixar is largely out of ideas and after Inside Out 2 made bank, they decided "yep, lets play it safe with sequels."

a lot of creative people work at these places. they are not out of ideas. are the ideas they have going to continue to be subjugated by a studio system that is risk averse, particularly at a time of so-so box office receipts and ballooning budgets? yes. but there are creative people with good ideas who have the misfortune of casting their lot into the movie business at this particular moment.

But it’s maybe the most aggregious example, which makes it almost the nail in the coffin on the theory. They were genuinely planning to put it on Disney +…… then it made billions. Everything that originally did well will continue to be made until proven otherwise.

the electric State wasn't great. didn't really like it. the robots looked incredible but the movie was kind of annoying. very cliche villains.
and I didn't really like Chris Pratt in it or Millie, haven't really enjoyed anything she's done outside of stranger things, the other projects she's done weren't that interesting
maybe the source material is much better. but the movie wasn't that good

Yeah it was awful. If it wasn't based off a book and was just an original movie with a smaller budget, I would disregard it as just mediocre. Unfortunately, this is one of the most expensive movies ever made (they could've funded so many independent movies with that amount of money...) that's based off a book that has a lot of deep themes and beautiful art that's sincere. It's sadly been reduced to a nothing burger of a bland blockbuster made solely to increase streaming numbers. It's absolutely sad and pathetic. I hate this movie lmao

visually it was really amazing, the robots did look really great. the action was great when it happened. that money definitely delivered great robot action.

but. as much as I loved Gus Fring in breaking bad, but Giancarlo Esposito was just really not good. and Stanley Tucci was just really annoying. but the leads were also annoying. I love starlord but...
it just not good. and the emotional scenes were pretty cheesy.
the boy, the brother was the only one I liked and his scenes were ruined by Millie lol.
the robots were kinda charming. but ruined by the humans.

Stanley Tucci was just really awful.
