I think SpongeBob would be better suited as a Springfield retheme once the Simpsons rights expire (Eventually).

I do think this would be prime for a One Piece land. You already have two solid water rides, so retheme to one of the most popular anime’s out there.

I love the rides, but……

2 popular ride concepts that involve water in Florida? Of course they’re popular. I don’t think that at all speaks to the TL theme. It’s just what those rides are.

I know this was a SLOP store for awhile, and if I remember right it had a lot of Dreamworks stuff this year.

It's not a popular shop either, so maybe they want to introduce something here to draw more guests?

Edit: Blondie's (adjacent restaurant) is also listed as closed with no operating hours. I wonder if they are planning on doing something else with this space or if it's a refurb with the building? The AP lounge would have to close so we'll see what happens.

I'd love for this to be converted as a larger UOAP lounge with unique bites/drinks served out of Blondie's

Build a real Krusty Krab sit down as a proof of concept, then re-theme the entirety of Toon Lagoon to Spongebob in the next few years. I hope the Frisco park shows them how much Spongebob food will sell if done right.

I'm the weird one who's happily claimed Dudley Do-Right as his favorite log flume of all time. It's never done me wrong. I even liked it better than Splash Mountain back when that was still a thing. Honestly hope the land doesn't get a re-theme.

That's two of us.....I loved Splash as a themed attraction, but not as a wet ride since you rarely got wet. Dudley gets you 'real wet', plus it's funny as all hell. It captured the cartoons' humor perfectly. I was always a big fan of the old George of the Jungle cartoon show where Dudley appeared along with the classic 'Super Chicken' cartoon, headquartered high atop the Gulf Building here in Pittsburgh.

Honestly the theme of Toon Lagoon is such a Late 90’s idea (there were enough people going to the park who were nostalgic for these characters where it made sense). And I’ll admit I am going to miss that feeling of it when this land goes.

I highly doubt Creative will want to throw any money at this (with all of the other projects going around). So, I would say it would most likely get a retheme and not a rebuild (and not any time soon, probably at least 5-10 years from now).

Other than Dudley Do-Right which had a movie made a few years after Toon Lagoon opened, pretty much nothing else has had any recent pop-culture refreshes as far as I'm aware. In other words a majority of guests under the age of 35 probably have no idea who any of the other characters are besides Popeye which seems to be more generally recognized.

To be fair though, the rafting works well even if you don't know the characters. I never really watched the cartoon but still enjoy the theming. To me it is just a generic "rafting gone bad" ride with some fun elements.

I know it would never happen, but I would actually enjoy it if they just got rid of the IP and call it "Tropical Lagoon" with some Universal IPs as easter eggs.

"Quick" is relative in that case. Yes, quick compared to something completely different. But probably would still take them at least a year when we take rethemes like Jurassic Park to World or BTTF to Simpsons as a reference. So likely this won't happen until they have a replacement for Lost Continent I would imagine. Otherwise IOA loses even more capacity.
