Important to note that they are already meeting the ordinance, and are just trying to go above and beyond for the neighbours, which is good on Universal.

I wonder if they could keep it running if the new sound walls are not within the perimeter fence?

By the time this actually gets to grand open, it’ll be an indoor coaster.

I wouldn’t complain if they did that. Doing this would put California’s fully indoor coaster count to 4, so we have a way’s to go before we catch up to Orlando’s count lol

Not that I'm doubting you, but is there a source for this? I've seen it mentioned a few places, but I haven't yet seen anything official confirming it.

Maybe Universal will postpone the opening to early winter so they can enclose more of the elements.

It's explicitly stated in that council members post, shared by 12th man:

"We know the community is concerned about the noise from Universal’s new Fast & Furious ride, and Universal has provided an update: while recent sound testing met the park’s requirements, they will be installing two additional sound barriers to help reduce noise. The construction is expected to be completed by early next month.

Stay tuned for a community meeting announcement from TLHOA and Universal for residents to hear directly from the park and ask questions.

Meanwhile, if you have any questions or additional concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact Universal’s Community Hotline at 818-622-2995 or community.hotline@nbcuni.com"

Thank you! I missed that there was additional information in the caption.

Unclear to me if they can continue to run the ride while they construct these barriers, but boy, do they need this thing open yesterday.

Gotta keep the neighbors happy if they want their support going forward, as this likely won't be the last time we'll get an outdoor "attraction".

What so funny is you really can't hear the coaster around the park, on the tram, or the lower like like SNW and what not

The issue is the golf course allows the sound to just travel right into the area. So if the course was sold to USH and USH put sound stages there instead most likely the sound would be blocked more from those building but no...we need a course that uses a ton of water so maybe a few thousand people can play golf

Good on USH for doing it and hate to sound cynical but really wonder if this would be different if the neighbor wasn't so rich, I feel like those with money and power just have connections to make the issue be bigger then it is because from all video's I've seen its not that bad, people living near freeways or busy street (I've lived on one of these noise just all night)

"I smell what you're stepping in Sensei".

If I understand what you're implying, I'm not really surprised. This is going to do gangbusters once this officially opens. I can see them wanting to do at least one more coaster.

Not to put the cart before the horse, but I would love to see something along the lines of Hagrid's. If not an exact clone, then maybe theme it to BTTF.

I hear ya. It's kind of ridiculous, but they gotta play with the neighbors if they want to have their suport and not be fought after with the city.
