Didn't hate it as much as you apparently, but yeah, slow and ultimately pointless -- the narrative drive of Ella's quest really drove the first season, this season gets bogged down with too many convoluted side plots, none of which are actually resolved by the end. Also, the more non-1950s sci-fi elements (The Legion comes to mind) come off as corny, even in this corny, dark comedy world.
I'll at least start season 3 solely for Walton Goggins, but going to take a serious turn-around to get me as excited as a I was for season 2.
