The mango bread at Oak & Star is my favorite item in the entire park so far (admittedly haven’t eaten at many of the locations yet), although the burger I had at Meteor this last visit was way better than I expected for an in-park burger. I wish we could get that level of burger across the resort’s quick service locations, though I know that’s likely not possible at the volume and speed places like Mel’s and Richter’s need to put out food.

I didn't have any of it, but my wife got the burger at Das Stakehaus and she was shocked at how good it was for a theme park burger as well.

Epic food is expensive but you get what you pay for.

Yeah, it's all a lot of $$$ but there was never a moment where I was disappointed that I spent the money.

Agreed. So much of the park feels like it's meant for adults, thus food options that are more filling and mature, less of the turkey legs variety (not that there is anything wrong with turkey legs). As a result, they can charge a higher price for the food with probably fairly strong margins.

In my mind, Epic is a more fun version of Epcot (and I say that loving Epcot and is my go to park at WDW).

I dunno if I’d say more fun (depends on a lot!) but I do agree on Epic having some Epcot vibes to it.

You might be on to something about the timing. We do early dinners and lunches to avoid crowds both in restaurants and on rides*
(so we ate dinner there at 4:45).

*I could write a Josh Humphries Easy WDW style thesis on this. Let me know if you're interested! :lmao::cheers:

I definitely think the bad experience at Blue Dragon was due to the late seating and them trying to stretch the food out. It was just even more disappointing that I'd heard so many great reviews and it was one of the more expensive options that had the most disappointing food.

I'm still shocked at how good a value I felt Pizza Moon was. The portions were comparable to personal pizzas at other chains and even priced the same. A theme park pizza has no business being that good, with some truly unique options, for the very fair price. Kudos to Universal for really stepping it up with food.

That's fair. Epcot is a ton of fun in its own right and it depends on what you want from each park on your visit.

The Epcot vibes struck us most when eating at Le Gobelet Noir and Café L'air De La Sirène. Both spaces feel "real" enough that you could dine at either one and not realize that you're in a Harry Potter-themed restaurant.

Agreed with the Epcot comparison. Epcot obviously has the edge in its quantity of table service restaurants, but I’m a quick service guy and Epic is an embarrassment of riches there. Oak and Star is prolly my favorite quick service in Orlando - GREAT food, never crowded (in the five or six times I’ve been), and it’s good vibes and usually pretty quiet. Not to be a hater, but I tried Regal Eagle for the first time at Epcot last weekend and there was no comparison.

Astropub seems maybe a bit underappreciated imo - they do a great theme park burger and their service has always been lightning quick for me after placing an order. And obviously there’s Pizza Moon mopping up in quick service pizza. Just hard to argue with the BBQ and mango bread at Oak and Star lol.
