Coming up on 8, yes EIGHT years, without a new Dreamwork's show in this flex theater. Unbelievable :lmao:

Maybe the new Soarin America film at DLR will nudge them to make a new one for this.

Um, yeah….the theater is doing exactly what it’s designed to do. There’s already been an overlay for FFN and three overlays for HHN! They got a lot of mileage out of the venue already.

I do think once we hit the ten-year mark, we can talk about a new permanent overlay for this attraction.

If we wanna be technical, Four Seasonal attractions too (considering Behind The Screams + Late Night with Chucky) and that's not including what FFN will have next year.

Should there be a new permament daytime film? Yeah probably, and I genuinely wonder if Shrek might be one that could get it (especially as the film is delayed now to 2027), but DWT has been becoming more properly of use now that they seem to have a better understanding.

That could only be experienced through after hours up-charged/separately ticketed events!

There's a story I can tell about one overlay, but I'll reserve that encase it shows up in the near future, but they have been considering daytime seasonal overlays.

You're right - there have been two additional "ride" films, but four seasonal productions in total. In other words, the theater is doing what it was meant to do.

Why does it have to be the 10 year mark though?

I do think they have come to terms though that the venue can't really be used for *show* productions to the scale that'd allow them to run DWT in the day. From what I've heard, Late Night with Chucky was kind of a mess behind the scenes wise.

I suspect the future will be "Films" overlayed into the theater. Especially if they could figure out a way to convert XR films into films that can use the full wall projections in-time with D-Box (which is cheap to reprogram).

I almost hope they just rename it to the Universal Theater or Production Plaza theater because the usage of Dreamworks but only using Kung Fu Panda is just an irritating tease. Just take out all of the Dreamworks stuff and make it an overt black box like in Japan.

yes, this is petty lol

I think I wouldn’t mind the theater at all if the show was in 3D, but I absolutely love (well done) 3D so I’m heavily bias. Its why Minion Mayhem is also kind of dead space for me now (especially since it had stellar 3D).

Historically speaking the ten year mark is when attractions are seriously considered for replacement (i.e. Supercharged, BttF)

They sometimes wait until then because it's a 10 year business depreciation move.
